Okay mates, I want to get custom sounds in my level and its not working, here's what I have done so far. I got audacity and saved my music files as wav. then I put the wav file in my cstrike/ sound folder. After that I used it in an ambient_generic and the music was working when I browsed for it in hammer. Then I made a func_button and linked it to the ambient_generic. Heres some screenshots of what I have in hammer.

When i press the func_button nothing happens, I thought maby the sound wasn't in the bsp so I used pakrat and it still doesn't work.

Dew u guys know wats up?

I recommend using .mp3 for sounds in maps because of the small file size.

Even then you have to meet very specific settings inside of the .mp3 in order for it to work in-game.

Do this:

When in game, look at the console once the sequence has been started. If you get an error that says something along the lines of invalid sample rate (insert sample rate here) for file (whateverdirectorythisis) then your sample rate is incorrect

For some odd fucking reason the engines only like 44.1KHz and nothing else. Not 1 hertz up or down.

Use audacity and convert it to an mp3 format. Make sure it's set to 44100 Hz and do el conversion.

Done.
