KarmaOfPain
Lately my computer has been really slow and I have no idea why. Most games that I try to launch will freeze and end up crashing. I scanned my computer to see if it is a virus but It did not find anything. The programs i'm usually running are steam and google chrome.
PoorStar_Nutbag
sounds like RAM to me, have you checked to see that your ram is working? How much ram/sticks are you running? Download memtest86 and put it on a flash drive , load into BIOS and boot from flash drive to test the ram. If you are unfamiliar with the process you can youtube it very easily. Also check to make sure you have startup programs disabled in control panel. It could be trying to run to many programs at the same time which would result in you ram being tied up doing other things. How old is your PC and what setup are you running spec wise Edited June 24, 2014 by RedDevil6193 l2edit

Also steam and google chrome crashes a lot. i had 4 sticks of 4gb running (16gb) total and since my MOBO slot for my ram was bad it would only run one stick at 4GB. This could very well be a hardware issue do not count that out. start with testing ram and then check MOBO. again how old is your system? stuff can stop working at anytime wether you have had it for 1 month or 4 years. If you are asking for a simple fix there probably is not one. Copy and paste your specs? on a phone, im not going to search for them. DeRedPanda
Erase everything then reinstall Windows and your games. If there are still problems then it is hardware.

KarmaOfPain
Update: Did a memtest and nothing came up. It is not a ram issue.
BranHorse
Umm so this started occurring recently correct? How about you try and do a system restore to a time before the issues occured since to me it sounds like software issue. Ram errors usually end in blue screens/restarts. UnPrePared_
What happens when it's get frozen ? And what do you do after it ? Do you restart your PC and then after you started it up it will freeze again ? Or is there a delay between them? Be super accurate what happens and what you do.
