I'm currently using a wireless connection but I moved upstairs to plug in directly and have yet to test because I am running malware scans. Basically after joining any server after about 10 seconds my packet flow stops my ping freezes and I get the red text auto disconnect in 15 seconds. If not this or after I d/c I get a hl.exe has stopped working. I'm going to re install if what I have done does not solve the issue.
