Great Program To Emulate A Ps4 Controller As An Xbox 360 Controller For Use On Pc Games.

As many of you know some PC games have the option to play with a game pad, and usually a Microsoft Xbox 360 controller is already mapped by the developers for games with native controller support. I believe that some games are more enjoyable on a game pad or controller, or they were designed to be played that way. 90% of the time I am a keyboard and mouse guy on my PC but sometimes I will hook up a console controller in order to lay in bed and play some PC games on my TV before I go to sleep.

While I do enjoy the 360 controller, after getting a PS4 a few months ago the controller has grown on me. I find it much more comfortable in my hands than a 360 controller, the analog sticks also feel more responsive.

Now back to the topic... I have been researching ways to use my PS4 controller on my PC without too much custom mapping and spending a lot of time narrowing down the binds and analog sensitivity.

I came across a program called InputMapper, previously known as DS4Tool. It is a very simple install process that guides you through instillation: Microsoft Xbox 360 controller support, and then NET framework in order to function properly are installed. After their instillation InputMapper itself is installed.

Once InputMapper is launched all one needs to do is plug in their Dualshock 4 to a USB port and the controller is recognized by InputMapper.

The default profile applied to your Dualshock 4 emulates an Xbox 360 controller, making your computer believe it is a 360 controller, providing native support for most controller supported PC games. http://i.imgur.com/nbPfbTO.jpg (Screenshot of default mapping applied to a Dualshock 4)

There are also some other neat customization features under the "Configuration" tab of your Dualshocks 4's profile. For example you can adjust the intensity of the rumble, vibration packs, in the controller. You can also customize the LED Lightbar on the controller. http://i.imgur.com/wpGCYVm.jpg (Screenshot of a few customization options)

I read somewhere that you can connect a Dualshock 4 via bluetooth using this InputMapper program but I do not have a bluetooth dongle to test this with myself.

I hope this post is of use to some of you! The company's official website is http://inputmapper.com/

edit: Sorry about those large embedded photos.. I'm not very good at formatting on this forum, or maybe just not in general...
