Caligstar
I'm interested in building an AR-15. I am not familiar with guns, but this seems like a cool project. Does anyone here know how to build these guns, can explain the nuances involved, and quality of the brands available? I've been reading a lot of articles and how-tos online, but I would like some personal insight as well and maybe a hand holder LOL. I attached a picture of one that I really like, and I want to recreate it - or simply put, copy it! Thanks guys.
KiLLeR SeNSaTioN™
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ best prices on everything! and they have every model of AR15 for sale, from the cheaper Bushmaster series, to the Colt AR15 which is the military version. http://www.omahaoutdoors.com/ sells weapons modification kits. http://www.blackacestactical.com/ sell shotgun modification kits, but they might have some AR15 stuff. (FYI the AR15 you have pictured has an upper rail with custom sites, a tactical adjustable stock, custom fore-grip, and a choke-tube on the end of the barrel, which doesn't really do much for the weapon except look nice, but a choke-tube on the end of a shotgun will improve "shot distribution" AND allow you to stick the barrel on a door-lock and blow a hole through the door, without the weapon backfiring.) All of these parts are available on the above websites http://hellsgamers.c...ase-of-zombies/ I did this to a 12 gauge shotgun, all from parts I got on these websites. hope this helps. lebowski
If you like to build things its pretty simple... just don't forget there is a right tool for every job. one custom thing I like to do is.. instead of using barrel shims, I like to sand/machine the barrel nut just until it sit right where I want it. I have experimented with barrels alot.... um, if its your first buiild, maybe just do a cheapo build, so learn from the first one... and then your second build can be the Gun of The Gods.. or a nicer one. palmettostatearmory.com they are uber cheap... its a good start there.
