BranHorse
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/CV3PHx Here's my two cents: I told myself I will not upgrade until I can afford a build with DDR4, and with your budget I would in an instant. Why spend 2500 on a build and buy ddr3, when you can afford 2011 socket 6 core with ddr4. I expect ddr3 to be phased out in 1 to 2 years. As far as everything else goes, this build has one of the best gaming and ocing boards in the market today (my favorite is a gigabyte board, but lots of people hate on them for whatever reason) and will last you a long time. The 5930k is a unlocked beast that will play games smooth as butter and render like a beast if your into that. As far as graphics cards go 1 980 should be sufficient depending on what your doing. For storage just get a 1 tb ssd (Sata) and add more storage later when you start running low. SSD prices are only going to go down so you might as well get a decent one now and another when you need it. I am against pci ssds at the moment due to having some issues with them at work and on my home machine. Mobos hate them, I would never use one as a boot drive again. This may not be the case anymore, but I sold mine last year do to to many issues. But yeah this has power and stuff. If you don't like the case or want itx or mini atx let me know. I have a amd 8320 fx and gtx 760 i can play arma 3 on ultra and other games. I dont notice a different from playing on that then i do my friends i7. I feel like if you have enough fps where you dont get fps lag, then thats all you need. I mean its nice to waste money on better stuff if you want, it might last a bit longer, but dont see a point. Especially since he said he just wants it for gaming.

I understand you do not see the point in spending more but some of us do. That is cool you can run arma but arma is not every game. i can assure you that your not getting 60 fps in arma with that setup on ultra. Coming from someone who has the exact same computer as you creepa, i was not satisfied with the performance at that level. And yes my other PC is the same as yours except its the 8350 with gtx 760. The motherboard is even then same asus MOBO M5A97. While yes it ran most games fine on high settings i did not have much luck on ultra especially with newer games. You could call it a waste of money to spend 2 grand on a computer and for a lot of people you would be correct. For someone who spends 2000+ hours a year on a computer i did not mind splurging for a little nicer equipment and i have no regrets. Why settle for less if you do not have too?
