Burnt
Today I had a meeting with a club at my school, my teacher got me interested on the first day of class so I figured id see whats up. Basically this club is a competitive "game" sort of deal where you test against others around the world on specific days in a race to secure a Virtual OS from cyber attacks. Now at first my idea of this class is on a 50/50 between something that could be quite fun, and on the other half I believe this could be a really poor setup that doesn't really seem like something I'm interested in as far as cyber security. This event/competition is sponsored by the United States Air Force, here is a link to their site if you want to check it out. I'm in High School so I don't know if colleges offer this as its $300+ per team entry (my school pays for it ayyyy) which can include up to 6 players (5 starters, 1 stand-in). Is anyone else participating in this? If so let me know! Alofoxx
Our campus has been reaching out to local high schools trying to get them interested. This spawned off as a sort of *prep* for CCDC. The cyber patriot may seem pretty watered down if you have done anything related to it before, but its really good to get your feet wet if you are interested in cyber security at all. I participate in CCDC every year and I'm currently working on my Computer Science and Cyber Security degrees.
