The !boomstick Idea

So... to create an incentive for joining HG, like the +1 afk rep in jailbreak I think it would be a cool idea to add a command for HG members (so people don't get recruit to abuse this) to get a free weapon with a cool down period. Guns and weapons are the general providers of fun in ZS (or they are supposed to be...cratewhores) so why not make it more fun for the loyal members+? The general idea behind the idea is 3 things:

-You get a certain weapon as a result of typing the command (ex: !zombiedrill !annabelle !akbar !boomstick).

-After you use this command, there is a cooldown period.

-You get NO ammo when you get the gun.

My general model and original idea is having the command be: !boomstick with a 4 day cooldown period (96 hours)

Although you could do this with any weapon or cooldown period. Other things I've considered is that things like the carpenter's hammer and crates shouldn't be accessible from a command like this because of cratewhores and poor caders. Also some people might be concerned that HG members would all use the command at the same time and create a <weapon> party for barely any cost, but with an appropriate cooldown period this can be avoided. Also this command could be turned off during double point events.

So, what do you think?

You know, this can be made into a more fun and reasonable idea. What if instead of having it on certain guns, it's random. The command would be something like "!random", and it will randomly give you a weapon available on the arsenal crate. You can make it to where certain weapons have a percentage of chance you have at getting it. An example would be having an Akbar Assault Rifle be at 16% and a Grim Reaper at 2%. What could give this idea diversity is by having a command like this for each category of weapons; !pistol !assault !rifle !submachine !shotgun !melee. Each command would have a cool down of 3-4 maps, and it wouldn't be over powered because if the commands were set up to where it's by weapon type, it would mean you could make the weakest have about 21% and the powerful ones have 2-5%. This would make the commands amazing, but also not give the member a HUGE advantage, since you're most likely to get a weak to moderate weapon and not a weapon as powerful as the Grim or Destroyer.

Good idea, but I stick to the fact that the cooldown period needs to be much longer, to the extent of a few days if need be.

^ The legend himself returns.

Well, anyway, another alternative to the current suggestion for member perks, is maybe a passive point increase maybe (<9%) bonus to points, so that it isn't too OP. And it won't be anyways, since everyone gets pointsaving, this is just a minor convenience for members who love to pointwhore. And, also, it won't have the dreaded "cooldown" period, when you're just sitting around checking the next time you'll be able to !boomstick (more like !cooldown, at this point). You'll be able to enjoy your member perk 24/7 whenever you log on and play (thus, providing advertisement for the HG members, in a way).

Guns are fun, points are...well...points. I'd rather have fun with guns. The cooldown is just a necessary balancing point.
