Biggy
Hi. In recent weeks i've been working my ass off for a new build. Just almost done saving. Now comes down to this bottle neck I've had. Is it worth getting 6700k or 4790k? I don't know if its worth getting 6700k or staying safe with 4790k. Things I plan to do with new PC. - OBS twitch streaming - CSGO and streaming -Plans to stream other games - Use for school and other misc things. I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks. The Governor
My i73920k is doing fantastic with my GTX 980 Ti still. I would think your 4790k would be fine, especially when overclocked.
Short
The 4790k, as having to buy ddr4 and a 5% perf increase for $50 more isn't worth it. Edit: Could be wrong, just checked and it appears ddr4 is actually affordable now, in that case 6700k. Edit2: Yep, around $50 difference, I would go with the 6700k. DeathShot
If you're going to get an i7 might as well get the 6700k
