Wow You Guys Make Me Feel REALLY cheap. I Wish I Had A Custom Desktop But

1. Im So Poor I Cant Even Buy Me A Mic.

2. Im Lucky Im Even Getting A Custom Laptop For My Birthday

3. Im Running Off Of A 3 Year Old Emachine......... Hell Ill Even Post Specs Just For The Hell Of It.....

T3136 Pc Emachine

AMD Sempron Processor 3600+ (2.00 GHz)

2GB's Of DDR2 667 MHz RAM

Windows Vista Home Basic (32-bit)

NVIDEA GeForce 6150SE Graphics Card

120GB SETA Hard Drive

I Know... Im Cheap Lol. But I Do Like The Processor.

Yeah that 6150 is definitely poopy. While its still extravagant I bargain hunted everything.

e7200 80$ = microcenter price mistake

8GB of Corsair twinx 40$ = after rebates from newegg/frys

Striker Extreme 65$ = bought it used and RMA'd it

2x9600GSO's 73$ = Rebates from newegg

500GB 50$ = Maxtor Closeout

1TB 80$ = Hitachi Rebate

500w 16$ = Newegg black friday sale + rebate

24" soyo 240$= impulse buy cause wife stole mine -__-

So yeah all that might be still expensive from some people perspective, but I feel like I did ok.

LOL my rig last week. This is a test rack for the crap load of these we are dumping out in the field. These are Redundant H.264 Encoder switches we are going to being using quite a bit when the digital switchover is complete. You take any source video regardless of quality and these badboys dump bluray encoded files for IP transport to your hubs and someday straight to the settop box. Are you asleep yet? I could keep going?[/size][/b]

I defend my perspective based on the HP having a 9600GT which smokes the video options on that studio. I dont know why but dell really cheapos on their laptop GPU's. I will tell you the dell might have a longer battery life due that but you wont get much out of any entertainment/studio notebook. I recommend getting a 12/16 cell battery if available.
