Imperial Knight
Guide to Setting Up & Using Jetpack Read through this thread to find out how to setup and use jetpack. Jetpack is a server-side plugin that allows you to fly around and is especially useful when toggled. This is not to be confused with the Pyro's Thermal Thruster. All players can use jetpack, this is not a VIP nor admin ability. The following HG TF2 servers have jetpack: Trade #1 Trade #2 Trade #3 Trade #5 Community Maps (can vary on specific maps) The following HG TF2 servers do not have jetpack: CTF Turbine Rotation Jailbreak MvM #1 Stock Maps Setting up Jetpack Read through these steps to setup and be able to use jetpack. Enable the developer console. If you already have this or know how to access it, skip this step. To do so: In Team Fortress 2, click on Options and navigate to the Keyboard tab (default tab that opens) Now click on Check the "Enable developer console" box like so: [*]Hit OK on each dialogue to get out of the settings. [*]Hold down the tilde/grave key (` or ~), it is left of the 1 key. This should open up the developer console. If it does not, check your control settings under "Miscellaneous" for "Toggle developer console" and set it to your desired key. [*]Choose a key that you would like to bind to the jetpack. Common keys for this are t, f, or v. Note that if you have a key already bound to one of these (such as voice chat, inspect, etc.), find a new key to use or rebind that other key in settings as this will overwrite it. [*]Type the following into the developer console, replacing [key] with the key you would like: . Example entries: bind t +sm_jetpack bind f +sm_jetpack bind MOUSE3 +sm_jetpack Using the Jetpack Follow these steps to find out how to use the jetpack. Either jump or walk off of a surface that is above the ground. Immediately hold down the key you have bound to jetpack. Use WASD and your mouse to navigate your movement. Release the key to stop the jetpack. You can hold and release this key to fly more smoothly or prevent fall damage. Note that to use the sniper rifle scope as a sniper, you have to drop from a surface above ground rather than jumping as jumping will disallow scoping. Note that as a soldier, for any perks relating to rocket jumping to apply while jetpacking, you must rocket jump and then jetpack rather than jumping or walking off of a high surface. Instead of flying, this can also be used to move fairly quickly on the ground. If you side-strafe, you can get in the air without jumping or going off of something.
