How to: Normalize Sound on Ventrilo

I don't know if anyone has posted a guide for this before, but if you haven't seen it here's a quick guide to normalize sound over Ventrilo.

1. Go to Setup

2. Enable Direct Sound

3. Select the SFX Button

4. Select Compressor and click Add.

5. Under Compressor Properties use the following settings:

Gain = Adjust for how loud you want people to be. (I use 15)

Attack = 0.01

Release = Around 500

Threshold = Around -30

Ratio = 100

Pre delay = 4.0

Done!

What this accomplishes: It prevents the fluctuation of a signal below or above a certain amplitude. Or, it makes it so no one is quiet or too loud. Feel free to mess with these settings as you see fit, and any change is completely reversable.
