Once you're in lite you can also hit the arrows on the front page modules to make them smaller and invisible so your phone doesn't have to load them at all. You could run it through RSS and Google Reader it. Or something. Just throwing out ideas. A version that strips out signatures and avatars might be a good compromise, though. Cut down on load times.
