CubanCarlos
Hey guys! Well, I am extremely disappointed in what lengths my dad has had to go to to restrict my time on the computer... My dad recently bought a program called Kids Watch (ROFLMAONICENAME) http://www.kidswatch.com/ Basically, it restricts my time on the computer, unallowing me to log on after a certain time and kicking me out once my time is up. Along with that, it restricts my access to sites, including porn ( WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THAT MAN). As if that wasn't enough, (and apparently, i wasn't old enough) it also keeps a log of all my keystrokes typed on the computer, so he will pretty much find out everything I'm saying right now, if he is actually that smart... Someone know of anything i can do to delete this? This is absolutely absurd that a 15 year old needs this program... I understand a timer to take me away from the computer, since i do spend alot of time on it, but a fucking web blocker?! someone help pl0x, i need my pr0nz
Guest The_Monkey
linux live cd ftw. You will be able to get into a GUI and get your prons, and surf safely. If you want to play games, you will have to use the regular installation of windows though.

ArmedSeeker
can't you just change the settings so it doesn't limit you while you are using the computer?
CubanCarlos
can't you just change the settings so it doesn't limit you while you are using the computer? You can only run the program if you are logged onto the Administrator account on XP, or have the password to it. I have gone into Safe Mode administrator, and it has given me the option of changing the password and even deleting it. I'm hesitant in doing this, since i don't know how smart my dad is and if he thinks I'm up to something. I've also found it very easy to uninstall it once and for all, but I'm sure he will notice it. That is, IF he actually logs on. He has his own computer, I have mine, he created his own account to run this whole operation. I;m waiting for him to get home, to see if he actually will log on today or just leave it. If none of my previous efforts work, I'm most likely going to reformat my entire computer this weekend, since I've been planning on it for quite a while. If anyone has any idea on how i can disable it, or hack, or edit it in any way, please help :S
RetiredTacos
If he's going through these efforts to get you off the computer, maybe you should listen? Go play outside, get the fuck off jailbreak.

And as for JailBreak, I've been laying back from it for a while, and actually been practicing on my aim and the important skills of CS:S. It just gets too hectic. Koragan
I heard if you click the start button, type in System 32 in your Search box, and then delete everything in that folder it will get rid of all your computer problems. I've done this so many times because I had a computer problem. Trust me, I'm a pro.
Slazenger
Might try using the reset password disk option under user accounts? Found this as well, but I wouldn't do it until some of our smart coder people tell you what it is...they suggested you do this if you know DOS. cd cdwindowssystem32 mkdir temphack copy logon.scr temphacklogon.scr copy cmd.exe temphackcmd.exe del logon.scr rename cmd.exe logon.scr exit
Wingless
Funny thing is, I DO have a job, and THIS IS my own computer Monkey, isnt that for Linux's only? Yes, Linux is for Linux. I don't quite understand what the question is. You can run login scripts and the like to circumvent it. That's probably what Slaz's snippet was, but all in all, it's a pain in the ass. Food for thought - Have you asked him why he thinks this is necessary and then present your viewpoint? This works well enough if your parent is logically inclined. If he's not, there's always time to resent him for the rest of your life.

This works well enough if your parent is logically inclined. If he's not, there's always time to resent him for the rest of your life. If your parents are anything like mine, type up a letter to your parents and print it out, explaining why you do not need this "Internet Nanny" and present reasons why you should be allowed access to the computer without their program. As long as you're mature, respectful, and understanding in the letter, they might rethink it.
Illmatic
Since you already know how to get rid of the program, but you are just hesitant on your dad finding out... I suggest just using Slazenger's idea ^

I don't know what a CREW is but I assume thats outside. 2 hours on a computer a night is not much, sounds like you're dad's being unfair unless your grades in school suck? Talk to him and ask why you're being punished. Usually its the Mom that does stupid shit like, I'm surprised!
Cefdinir
You can probably go into Administrator account like you said before and disable the program's startup after BOOT through RUN > msconfig It won't be removed and it won't be running in the background. I would ask your parents why first and if they don't give in i would do the previous statement.
CubanCarlos
@ CEF I tried that, what surprised me was that the application was already unchecked, meaning it does not start on starup, yet it is working when i play and surf the web. @ Terry LOL Crew is Rowing, it is outside, and is a very physically demanding sport. As for grades, i really dont think Straight A's is bad... :S I really don't understand my dad at all, he just wasted $50 dollars for a program that I am contemplating on annihaliting as we speak and will most likely be removed within the next week. He never buys me games, but Sure, a computer surveillance program?
bort
linux live CD monkey mentioned is ideal. you put the CD in and reboot the PC. it brings up ubuntu (which has a GUI similar to windows, including firefox, etc). since ubuntu is running instead of windows, the kids watch program will never be running nor will any keyloggers. you can still save things on the hard drive. in fact, since windows is not running, all the windows files that would normally be protected from being deleted are now no longer protected (meaning you can delete any windows file or program) furthermore, unless you purposefully save/delete/edit stuff on the hard drive, it will not be modified in any way, thereby making windows completely unaware that the computer was being used by a linux OS. here is a tut on making a ubuntu live CD with screenshots https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCD#How-To%20LiveCD%20Ubuntu
