Prospekt
For me personally, I think that an application for the iPhone (or any other app smartphone) would be one of my most useful and greatest apps ever!! Maybe someone than know that C++ could help the HG's with it? (only thing is Apple approving it). But maybe through Steam, Apple would approve it, who knows..... That would be THE BEST application on my phone!! The most usage, AND the most important!!! What do y'all think?!?!?! Let's make it happen!!!!! Homer
What would it do? I can put this on the website to use a native app for the forums, scroll down for pics: BlackBerry / Android / iPhone / Nokia app for vBulletin - Tapatalk - vBulletin.org Forum
Prospekt
Exactly!! Forums, profiles, news, etc.!! Everything but connecting to servers and actually playing ya know. But even able to monitor servers and their ranks and activity, such as # of players, ranks, stats, everything we really have now, except the game itself. I know this is a hell of a task but GOD would it be the greatest app ever. I could know what game and who i would be joining before i even got off of work, and so on. It would be INCREDIBLE!! It's just a thought though, but I think it would be a very fun application to have on ur smartphone and carry in ur pocket!! Being able to post and read forums alone on this webpage would be a GREAT app alone!! just a thought though! thanx for reading!
Awwik
+1. For this I am on my iPhone right now! It would be amazing if I had an app for hg! It would make it easier to post on fourms and STUFF!

Prospekt
Just to be clear: Anyone who has purchased an iPhone is a brainless, clueless idiot that just slavishly follows the masses without a sole thought of their own. The phone (just like the recently released iPad) is an over-hyped, overpriced product that banks only on the "Apple" name alone; and that is what you're mainly paying for, the name branding. Also, notice how they hype up the "iPhone Apps" all the time, yet neglect to significantly point out that most of those apps have surcharge of $.99 each or more. At least for the iTunes product system they had, that was a main selling point that they posted for it; for this their advertisements almost try to make it look like they're free. P.S. Hey, HG has a Twitter page and that's good enough for any mobile AND computer style communications front for the clan. Hey thanx for the opinion, but my suggestion still stands, and the app never had to be $0.99. I have never paid a 1 cent for anything I have on my iPhone, and it is loaded with nothing but cool shit. One app I WOULD pay for though, is something that had to do with HeLLsGamer's, whether it be just Forun posts or not, it would be a great convenience not to mention put the name out their further than it already is!! P.S.- I'm not going to use this thread or any thread on HeLLsGamers to argue about the iPhone, some people don't like it and never will, but 99% of the world seems to LOVE it lol!! (but do i think the iPad is overrated)
Prospekt
It seems like most people that don't own an iPhone are anti-Apple. Which I could care less about Apple, I had the most fun with my old 2g iPhone when I did the jailbreak on it and got all kinds of crazy shit (which also ended up causing problems from my esperimenting). But I would love to have an app for this page, for Forums, news, servers stats, and whatever else. If not anything, even a mobile site for the HellsGamers would be great. I just dont know the C+++ scripting or I would be trying myself!! Sorry Siphead, not trying to hate, that's not really my style, just throwing out an idea that could serve some people or more!! Prospekt
So maybe a thought? I'm good with HTML and basic java. I'm gonna check out C+++ and see what it's similar to. I doubt I could produce anything as well as this page though. In fact I'm positive. This is the most well made page I have ever seen for a gaming community, which was very attractive to me when I wasn't a recruit!! It's now my homepage and my Steam community page. That's why last night I was laying on the couch and searched for it on the Apple App Store, and only found something called SteamCom, which looks great and just like steam but you cannot chat with your friends yet. Only view Steam profiles, post comments, view who is online and in what game, and visit links on Steam profile pages (which for me is HeLLsGamers). It looked good but I wont pay 1.99 untill I can chat with online friends, This is what made me think of the HG app. I want HG, not Steam, I think it would be a GREAT idea!! I know I would be addicted to it!!!!

He's trying to be "unique" and stand out from the rest of the world. If this means spiking your hair on the sides, dying it pink, splashing paint on your perfectly good jeans and tearing them to shit then so be it. He doesn't have to conform. It's all about individuality man. I personally stopped using silverware. We were meant to eat with our hands. Most people are brainless buffoons that follow along and act like silverware is important. Tear that shit with your teeth it's how we were made to eat! I'm an individual. Anyways, I personally don't have an iPhone but an HG app sounds like it'd be pretty cool. I like to stick to the basic dial and talk with a color screen. Or some one that wanted a phone to listen to a remotely large amount of music off, and be able to browse the web and other apps... but you're right the iphone is stupid, I mean why else would they have made so many other look a likes and other phones to compete with and out do the iphone. ttaM
People buy the phone, Apple makes a shit ton of product. You go back and forth attacking the company and the consumer Sipheed, you're a fucking idiot.
fox*
well the closest thing your going to get on the iphone is going on the web and going to the website....you dont really need an app for it...it would do what?
John
Make things a little bit more simple to navigate. Generally the same thing any mobile web app for any phone does..
Siphaed
Or some one that wanted a phone to listen to a remotely large amount of music off, and be able to browse the web and other apps...but you're right the iphone is stupid, I mean why else would they have made so many other look a likes and other phones to compete with and out do the iphone. Well, no offense, but actually Blackberry was one of the 1st few smart-phones and it seems that Apple's iPhone design is a rip and adjustment of their product. BB came out with a pager in 1999 and their 1st smart-phone in 2002; Apple's 1st iPhone came out in 2007, 5 years later. And ya, they're not the only phone that can use apps, web, music, GPS, camera, and find a Russian bride either. Most likely, one again, it's going off that name of "Apple App's Store". It's consumerism in the worst way. "Just because The Phantom Menace had "Star Wars" on it, doesn't mean it was any good." Bad example, as that's a bit in the extreme I'm sure. I'm not necessarily saying that the iPhone isn't any good, I'm just saying it's excessively over-hyped and not much different than any other smart-phone out there. And my original point still stands. For HG stuff, there is the Twitter page that was recently opened about a week or two ago that can be used from any web-based mobile. That itself works just find for communications, announcements, and so forth. P.S. Don't even get me started on that over-priced paperweight known as the iPad. ttaM
Blame the manufacturer, RIM. The iPhone as a platform is what I don't like. As far as their business plan and the way they market it, it's amazing. Your argument tackles too many things at once. The fact of the matter is that Apple is the king right now no matter what way you look at it. Every new smartphone is branded as "the iPhone Killer!!!!". If you didn't know, Apple actually had patents on a lot of their technology that was used in the iPhone up to 15 years ago, and a month or so ago they actually took HTC to court accusing them of violating those patents on what seemed like standard technology for all smartphones. John
I don't give a shit about the ipad, none the less. You're obviously far to ignorant to understand anything that we've said to you.
Koragan
This would actually be really cool. There could be like a Headlines tab for all the top stories on the main page, forums with subheadings in there to navigate, server status, stats.. could be sweet. I'd put it on my iPhone
