Obama Fails again

Recommended Posts

I don't really understand how that's relevant to anything. It's easier to chant inanities than to argue in detail why said heckler is being a tool.

I dunno when the last time you took a history class is, but congressional changes don't happen over night. I was catching up on this issue when I was traveling for work in March. That was two months ago. That's pretty good time.

Even IF Obama does somehow manage to get a bill to reform the "don't ask, don't tell" policy through congress and signed into law, the Pentagon could take years to fully enforce it. The law desegregating the military took 5 years to take effect.

Let's not forget that you know, he can't do shit until Congress passes the repeal.

Regardless, if you're going to make/post in a political thread, for the love of God, know what the fuck you are talking about.

well in the video a Gay rights Activist had yelled out, " Don't ask, Don;t Tell." After Obama had made in his other appearances about Gay rights being legal in America.....just goes to show that obama lied in his campaign

You are so fucking stupid, I don't even have the words to properly string it all out for you. Obama said in his campaign speeches that he wants to end "Don't ask, don't tell". However, he can't just wave a magic wand and make it all go away. Have you not learned about the balance of power in government? He can't just do what he wants.

He has not changed his stance on gay rights. However, we currently have a very moderate congress which makes ending the policy and allowing open sexual preference an uphill challenge.

In fact, "Don't ask, don't tell" itself was a compromise that Clinton made almost 20 years ago to a Republican controlled congress. Clinton originally wanted to do away with any type of policy regarding segregation based on sexual preference, but the GOP wasn't having it, so he compromised on "Don't ask, don't tell".

tl;dr : l2guvmint

Lamp is my hero. I so wanted to comment in this thread. However, I hate getting into political arguments over the internet.
