Newbie Tips to JB by teh Newbie

Since some people have problems understanding JB, I thought I`d contribute to the failness of it. If it is contrary to the motd, I will correct it and/or let me know so I can remove it. If staff/council doesn't like it then yeah it's gone.

Warning: This is not a MOTD and cannot be used to contest reports. It is only a guide to help alleviate (if any) confusion lingering in JB. Use it to your own discretion!

What is baiting... and what to do if someone is baiting...

When a ct is in a designated T-spot (such as in-cells, lower VIP, or in a spot designated by lead CT) and does not get out quickly, this is considered baiting. However, Ts cannot kill the CT and if they choose to do so, it is considered rebelling. (from my understanding of JJK's post in thread) "With the exception of flushing out camping Ts in lower VIP after orders"

Admins should warn, [slap or slay] (from what I've read from Slaz's thread if it still holds), then move the CT to T. (Standard procedure, nothing new here people).

If the T who kills the baiting CT and gets killed by other CTS, this is not a freekill.

I honestly think admins have to use clearer judgement when it comes to baiting (incl. me), not every single CT that comes in play knows the rule properly so please refer them to the motd if they are breaking any rules.

What is freekilling... and what to do if someone is freekilling...

Freekiliing is the act of killing an innocent terrorist who complies properly to lead CT's commands.

Freekilling is probably (for admins) one of the harder things to catch because it can be very subjective.

For instance, if lead CT were to say "When I say the magic word go, Ts will run to bottom of staircase" and he says "Go", this is a clear trap to get Ts killed. If you choose to run to the bottom of staircase (given he only said "Go"), you have not listened to orders and you will probably (if not) get killed. This is not considered a freekill.

Admins watch out of this as word traps ("traps") can cause some people who misinterpret the command to yell "freekill!" and demand the ct to be slayed.

Easiest way to get a freekiller T-listed is to either demo or SS the entire situation at hand. Yelling at Admins on the other hand, will not help at all.

As usual, admin procedues apply to the FK situation --- warn -> slay -> teamswitch -> kick -> and/or ban if necessary.

Note for CTs: Do not shoot into crowds if there is a rebel, this is considered highly irritating and can possibly get you slayed. A solution for instance, get the Ts to unstack and freeze so you can possibly get the rebelling T.

In pertinence to the "no armory rule", if a T happens to get in armory before you tell them "no armory", you cannot kill them if they aren't rebelling or moving. Instead, please get them to move back to the cells.

As always, Ts can rebel whenever they want no matter what is said. However, CTs cannot force Ts to rebel (as far as I know).

Addressing favoritism...

I am definitely not an expert on this but from what I understand, favoritism is allowed on opionated days only and only applies to Ts that are playing since opionated days are opionated (rofl @ retard hour). I definitely haven't seen alot of favoritism so forgive me for not writing enough about it.

Addressing micspammers and "irritating" people,

For admins, standard procedures apply. Warn, slay, kick and ban. Always get proof of mic spamming.

1. If LR is up, you may choose to play music but only if CTs (or Ts depending on team) allow it since it can be annoying for some people. For Ts, I think they should be allowed to especially since there's usually very little time.

Note: if your music (or whatever) crosses over to the next round, stop playing it immediately as this can be seen as mic spam.

2. We have gone over this a million times, people under 18 are allowed to lead no matter what Ts say as long as it is reasonable. For instance, "x" has a higher voice and sounds like a 13 year old and gets lead first, he remains as lead.

3. Yelling over lead will get you slayed. Admins please warn before slaying.

Addressing fringe issues...

1. If you are last CT before LR, you can kill all Ts even if lr goes off. You may choose to play LR with them if you wish however. (not 100% sure, please post if I'm wrong)

2. Do not freekill any Ts during LR. However, if terrorists choose to rebel during LR, that and only the rebelling T can be killed. For instance, if it is LR and I (as a T) choose s4s with ricky (e.g.) and fire multiple shots consecutively, this would be considered rebelling and any CT can kill me without it being a freekill. However if the accidental "two-shot" should occur, please be alittle more forgiving and continue with the LR. This is strictly to LR descretion.

Addressing freeslaying (for admins)...

Freeslaying is the act of slaying anyone steming from illegitimate reasoning. For instance, there is someone that I don't like (let's say "darkplanner") and he happens to be on the other team (say CT), and I choose to slay him just because I don't like him that is a freeslay.

(I'm just kidding by the way darkplanner, you're still awesome sauce and I <3 you) xD

Another tough call for admins is trying to decipher whether someone freekilled or not, especially if you do not know the complete circumstance. For instance, if darkplanner started yelling in adminchat, "HE FKED ME, he FKED ME.. SLAY him, he's a stupid FKer!". As an admin, you do not have to do what he says especially if you're not sure whether someone actually had FKed him or not.

Clear alternative (durp durp choices) to slaying someone in certain situations.

1. Mic spamming -> mute

2. Chat spamming -> gag/silence

3. Bad sprays -> demo/SS -> Banhammarz -> ban report (only if he doesn't comply with a ceast and desist order)

4. Racism (to any degree) -> warn, demo, banhammarz with ban report

5. JJK -> slap and spank all day =] (good luck trying to xD)

Ambiguity in orders,

CTs will do their best to make clear and concise orders. traps (as far as I know) are acceptable to a certain degree.

Ts do not nitpick orders thanks as you probably will be killed (allowed from motd). This is not a FK if you choose to nit pick CTs orders. You are however allowed to question them if and only if they are extremely ambiguous.

[To work on: games and etc..]

PS Staff/Council let me know if this is fail or something helpful... rofl

*cries and applauds*

Its truely beautiful.

And im not sure about the last CT vs LR, but usually Last CT gives LR if it gets to it.

Otherwise, I really want to link this EVERYWHERE.

EDIT: Why is the word t-arp minus the - changing to traps?

This should be stickied.

What is this about "ta-rp" becoming trap? It'll screw up image urls, like trap.jpg (IT'S A TARP, remove dash in url)

Make sure:

1) on LR rebelling is actually shooting the CT. Shooting around or having guns is not rebelling.

2) For admins, Usually dont slay just because someone tells you to, You need to be sure when you slay people.

3) Leads need to have CLEAR mics and speak CLEARLY. Do not use voice changers/auto tuners.

Another rule i think we should implement is. Until CT's come to a decision on who is lead, there are no orders/no lead.
