enigma# Posted June 14, 2010 Share Posted June 14, 2010 Fails to survive basic drop test During Steve Jobs̢۪ keynote speech at WWDC 2010 in San Francisco earlier this week, he particularly made note that the glass display in the iPhone 4 was much more durable and less likely to crack than all previous iPhone hardware iterations. As a result, many of the company̢۪s fans, investors and stockholders were pleased by the news and were promptly relieved to learn that the new device could withstand a higher amount of severe usage scenarios. As of yesterday, however, reports have been flooding the Internet about a little science experiment that iFixYouri tried on the new display. Homer Posted June 15, 2010 Share Posted June 15, 2010 (edited) I upgraded to the 3gs like 30 days ago before I knew anything about the 4g coming out so soon. So I called att and asked how much the upgrade would be and they told me because I just upgraded I am not eligible for another upgrade discount till sometime next year and that I would have to pay full price if I wanted the 4g. Anyways the guy was nice enough to tell me I was still within my 30 upgrade return policy att has and that I could return it to undo the 2 year contract extension. I then took the phone back about a week ago, they held and looked at it and asked "is anything wrong with it" and I said "no" lawl. I bet they don't get a return like that often. Anyways, I got my $199 back and I'm pre-ordering the iPhone 4G tomorrow for $199 also I get to keep my iPhone Unlimited Data plan that is no longer available, existing iPhone customers can keep it as long as they never change their Data plan, ever. p.s. I always have my phone in a case, and I have dropped my past 3g a couple times on concrete without it breaking. I can't decide which razor to apply to this, but I tend to assume Apple does confusing things like this because they're evil. @Awwik - They're killing the unlimited (soft cap) plan and replacing it with a 200 Meg and... 2 gig(?) plan for 15 and 25 dollars, respectively, I think. They're grandfathering existing unlimited users over until they make a plan change. SOOOOO, pretty much, instead of fixing their networks to be able to handle the capacity they ADVERTISED, they're pricing you into using less of their service.
