Jailbreak Admins

I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to train new admins, as in teach them practically rather than just written rules, in game. Could possibly be done by myself or staff or even another very experienced admin.

 

Aim of this would to be getting admins to handle situations more efficiently.

good idea, would take too much time IMO. Also you'd need some sort of 'bait' for the admins to be trained on. so in my opinion, great idea, would take too much time.

I think it would be even better if we held seminars once every two weeks on admin training...and those who do it get some type of "I attended" supporter features.

May have potential, but i don't see them learning how to handle most situations in 2 hours unless you were to purposely have somone mass freekill, somone to mic spam, somone to have a bad spray, somone to do everything that they shouldnt . On the flip side the stuff that they did learn would probably be more efficent than how they would usually handle it if they weren't "trained"

Training would be on our test server maybe? with volunteers?

id organise the whole thing and have an idea of how to run it.

 

With cross's help maybe implement like he said, some bonuses, maybe even increased chance of bomb, something along those lines.

But if i get enough support ill ask staff/council about it. ive admined jailbreak for a year and know pretty much everything about it..

i volunteer, i have been admin in several server for the last 3 years, and i think training the admins is a great idea, blade if you need any help, im here for you baby... <3

I was an admin without any formal training and I would like to think I did fine. I never had a report against me, so obviously everyone liked my choices. Its all about judgement, and the reason kids cry all the time, is because they think we are omnipresent, and even if there is 8 admins, we are not all watching the game. We are normally playing.

I also think this is a great idea, I may be new to admin myself, but I have logged hundreds of hours into the Jailbreak server before I bought admin so I know the rules and can help people out when needed, It just stinks when "new" or "immature" admins go on power trips right when they get it (Turtles is a rioter)

 

But anyways Its a good idea and I would be willing to help out!

I'm not sure how well something like this would work to increase our popularity, but it would definitely make people a lot less upset with our admins when they know that something is being done.

 

That said, I still think a lot of admining is judgement calls and whatnot, so not sure how well it would work, but I still definitely think it's worth a shot. All for it.

I wouldn't agree with forcing someone who pays to play to go to this "seminar."

As long as there's no PENALTY for not going, I think it'd not be argued against.

Above kinda... doesn't really help to get anyone in, because the people who suck STILL won't go, but I'm not entirely sure how it'd work out to actually get the people who NEED the training in unless you force them to :/

Well i guess itd be up to council or staff, id like it be a forced thing that all paying admins have to go through but im not sure if thatd be allowed or not.

 

But like crosshair said, some bonus would be rewarded for completing the training and attending checks every couple of weeks or so.

There would be no penalty for not going.

 

But like i said, id like it to be mandatory for all paying admins, although i doubt thatd be enforcable.

I think it'd be a good idea to train admins, but there is no need for an extra server. Just have the admin hop in vent with an admin, and they can both sit in spectator in the server they have admin for, with the full admin asking things like "Should he be kicked? Banned?" etc. Until the admin can be arsed to do a quick , maybe 30 minute, training, they could just be given access to mute and kick.

We already have a server used to test LR mods, and sitting in spec wouldnt really be practical, i want the admins to have first hand experience on how to deal with things. The hour would be enough to cover most or i could do it individually i dont mind. It'd be better to recruit some volunteers and use the test server, then we can use exact situations, instead of disrupting our other jailbreak.

Theres 2 things id need,

the password to the jb test server & to make some sort of bonus for attending.

IF you have any ideas for this bonus, post em here but Crosshair pm me plz, ingame or forums, eithers good we'll work out something.

Im ok with this. but 2 1 hour sessions is to much. 30 mins of common sense would work fine.
