Yeah I know that guy is scripting for sure. I've also seen a few other people doing it.

The way that I was told by someone, can't remember who at the moment, is to look at their speed. If they maintain their speed or gain speed, mainly the gain in speed, DEFINITELY scripting. If they lose speed at all, either they use a shitty ass script or they are just bhopping manually.

I remember I tried out a program that would spam the spacebar. (this was like half a year ago) Anyway, I would hold spacebar, and it was supposed to spam the spacebar key. Well, I tried it, and It made me jump, pause, jump, pause, then give me a popup that minimized the game. NEVAR AGAIN GODDAMNIT. I'd rather suck at b-hopping than be hax

I think we might have to scale back this rule a bit, if only because it's getting out of hand what people think are bhop scripts.

One thing is no foot steps. A script will make the auto-jump at the right time so all you have to do is strafe at the correct times. But the down fall to this one is that if you get really good, there will be no footsteps for a long period of time.

 

Another thing...if the person is gaining speed like no other, that really isn't that hard either. I can bhop just as fast with a scout as I can with an M249. It is the way the person who scripts does it you need to look for. When watching a demo or watching someone, go to console and type in cl_showpos 1. That will show you the velocity of someone's speed. Really good bhoppers can get up to 600 or 800 velocity. Scripters can do the same, but in a few seconds without straffing.

I never have actually banned or bothered with proof with bhoppers, I leave that to other admins, just because I can't bhop and never really got good at it. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. And @ JessicaJoy, that is essentially what I was told, you just said it in more detail. So yeah that does help, thanks.

KAC catches pretty much all Lua scripts either it be a name change hack or a bhop script.

I used to try to watch for them, but then I saw Jessica bhop, and now I feel like a nub. I have no experience of picking out bhop scripts. Like Strummer said, I let the more experience people take care of it.
