DrChristina5000
Tomorrow I'm getting Xrays done so I can get my impacted wisdom teeth out....what is it like to get your wisdom teeth out. My mom said freaked me out a bit saying stuff about how the laughing gas is going to make me trip out etc... What was your experience like? Cr(+)sshair
You just feel the guy nudge your mouth back and forth...that is all.
Guest The_Monkey
Most of the time (now) they don't give you gas. They instead give you twilight so you don't remember and are mildly sedated, a xanax an hour before you go (to make the twilight really effective), and numb the shit out of your mouth. If they give you the right amounts of twilight, you'll be zonked for a few hours. However, you will still be able to walk, so you can be mobile (enough for your parents to get you to the car > home > then to a bed). You'd have to be a pussy to get that much shit before getting your tooth pulled. I only had one shot of nova, 5 mins later my tooth was out. By law they can only give you acetaminophen 500mg and antibiotics after.
blackbelt
When I had my top two pulled they put me unconscious for 30 minutes. I also just found out that my bottom ones also have to come out. But its not really anything to worry about.
F4ithl3ss
When I got all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth pulled, the guy hooked me up on an IV and we started talking. I told him I felt dizzy, he said cya in a few hours, and I was out like a light. I woke up with my wisdom teeth out, started hitting on the lady working the front desk, the assistant had to walk me to the car with my mom, and then my mouth bled for about 2 days. Enjoy the vicodin
DrChristina5000
yeah they give Vicodin after which I know......I just hope I get knocked out like you Faithless. I hate dentists. My mom was totally trying to freak me out by saying that I'll get gassed and hear everything in echos, etc. I was like omg I'm totally going to trip out bad. All 4 of mine are impacted and I found out from the CT I got from the ER when my kid busted my nose. I should of gotten them ripped out when I was in the military when I had the chance. Spindrift
I was definitely high for a long time after my procedure. I remember talking to a lady with a gas mask on my face and then the next thing I remember was waking up lying down on a bench in a waiting room. I could barely walk around much and thought everything was funny. I couldn't find my lips, chin, or tongue.

Duckarmada
They gave me local anesthesia via IV. They put the needle in my arm and made me count down from 100. A few numbers down, I passed the fuck out. I woke up all loopy. I had a lot of swelling, but I wasn't in pain. I did pass out in my kitchen at one point the next day. I was pretty high on hydrocodone though. That was goofy. If you keep ice on in regular intervals, your swelling will be minimal. Really not that bad. p.s. Snack Pack ftw!!!! Kiri-Jolith
Lol, when i had my 4 pulled, all that really happened was having some swelling. Was put on an IV, told to count down from 10 and that i wouldn't even get to 5. I guess as I was starting to wake up I was acting like an airplane with my arms out making the sounds and everything lololol.

They didn't give me enough twilight the first round however. So I remember everything. I just felt really drunk.
Guest The_Monkey
PS, the knocking out everyone is talking about is the twilight...you are not totally unconscious, you just black out. Like drinking so much alcohol that you don't remember what you've done. They still give you instructions while you are "out", just that you don't remember. You also do stupid shit like you would do when you are drunk.

Homer
I beat you all. I had 8 teeth pulled at once before I got braces. 4 impacted wisdom teeth and 4 adult teeth (4th tooth from the back). They don't do laughing gas at my Dentist. I was put on an IV, laid back and relaxed. They stuck a needle into my IV with something to put me under and told me to count from 1 to 100, I got to like 4 and I was out, next I remember waking up and walking back to the car with two assistants at my shoulders, there was no pain during the procedure or right after. Later that night and the next few days there was a lot of pain and they gave me Vicodin which was much needed for the pain. A week later I was fine with no pain. DrChristina5000
I know i'm necroposting but this is my thread..... But I had gotten all my wisdom teeth removed today. They did put me under..All I remember was them putting the IV in and something over my face and I was out cold. Then woke up to my dad trying to joke with me and I couldn't talk thanks to the gauze in my mouth. Everything went great and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Thank you for all your support I truly appreciate it! You all are awesome!!!
