JJK
My northbridge is getting too damn hot, and I can't upgrade cooling for a week. Soooo, Im wondering what is a better fan setup until then? Im guessing alt. Because the way its setup now its just pulling air from whatever holes are open, I think a steady intake from the corner of the case that is cold would help. RetiredTacos
ALT setup, but if your northbridge is getting hot something else is wrong. Unless you have extra voltage going to it or the fan is broken on it, even in a shitty cooled case it should not overheat. Might need to pull NB heatsink and clean it up, put new thermal on it. JJK
I did not rearrange fans yet. I cleaned everything and its idling at 47c, it was idling 50c+ (GPU and CPU always pretty much the same) Before dusting it, with a couple games open, wouldn't go above 64c ill let you knwo what happens now google and crosshair says start worrying at 80c, but when I say hot i mean hot to the touch
piscian
anything over 50-60c is getting a bit too hot alt setup is ok but if your NB is getting that hot you need to check voltages/clocks and check how cramped your case is. If your GPU sits up against it that may be your issue.
