DADT was a very positive move for America.

For the people that believe more people won't join the military because they're afraid of dropping the soap, that's just ignorance.

Did you know, America was one of the few nations in the UN that did not allow gays to serve openly?

Did you know, that many of those who had been discharged under DADT was because they did an excellent job?

Many lesbians and gays do a hell of a job. Hell, even straight women do. Did you know if a straight women did above and beyond in her job she would be considered a lesbian?

For the gays and lesbians and transgenders and bisexuals that do serve, it's about the mission. It's about the fact that they LOVE to serve America and that's what they're there to do. You may have a case or two where you get hit on by a gay man, but that's no different from captains and generals and other males sexually harassing women. It's something that has been occuring throughout the military and will continue to do so, but I doubt it will cause so much hysteria.

Bottom line, it's people's ignorance that gets in the way
