Bob the Android Penguin
Tor + Vidalia or Use home computer as a ssh server. Use PuTTy or WinSCP on computer at school to tunnel traffic to your ssh server. I'm homeschooled so I don't have to worry about getting around blocks though. Cisco
my school got fed up with us because we kept finding ways around it. All the teachers knew who to ask to unblock website. It was funny for a while.
Jovo
With my school, we got a bunch of teachers on our side, and actually got the school board to change policy. Only thing blocked now is porn, and that sometimes slips through too. (Newgrounds comes to mind)

bort
3g = service from verizon, no way the can access it to block it. Yeah, the reason why a school is normally capable of blocking websites is because students normally connect through the school's Ethernet or WiFi access points. Those access points all connect to a single gateway where the school can put filters in place to block certain websites. However, if you are using your phone's own cellular signal (whether 3G or otherwise), there's no way your school can block that without putting a cellular disruptor/jammer in each classroom. But doing that would have the added side effect of blocking ALL cellular traffic, which I'm sure could get them in serious legal trouble... It's a safety concern in case there is an emergency and someone needs to use their phone the FCC could get get involved if they are affecting a wide area and disrupting other service.
