So where are you. I am rather clueless when it comes to Car Parts. I am looking to put a few upgrades into my 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS, It is a 4 cylinder 2.4L engine. I would like to find an Exhaust System, Cold Air Intake, and a Preformance Chip to get a little more power out of my car and make it a tad more fun to drive than it already is.

Waste of money, you will not pick up any power. You would need a full header to catback system for exhaust to get ANY power, and it will be very little, maybe 15 wheel horsepower. Adding a muffler will do nothing.

 

CAI will pick up 2-3 wheel horsepower maybe.

 

There is no "performance chip" for cars unless its a diesel or a speed density car. A 2003 eclipse would be OBDII and would require a tune via the computer.

 

So basically, don't waste your money, sorry. If it was turbo'd, there are a a lot of upgrades, but a N/A 4 banger will get no power from mods.

Sell it and buy a turbo car

 

Nuttin is better than a turbo car, they are amazing, I have owned 6 turbo cars,2 Supra's, 300zx ,2 Eclipse's , and a Talon mods work way better with a turbo car.

 

If you dont want to change cars, then save ur money like Terry said, u would be spending alot of money for "noise" basically....and u will not be happy with the result's

Also id suggest you could get better suspension it can make a fun ride funner.

So you know that diesel trucks are turbo, as well as semis and I'd say they're pretty fuckin reliable. You do research SON.

turbo's are a lot less reliable than n/a cars for the most part though. if you want to waste your money on an unreliable, performance vehicle, go european.

 

This made me lol. Go read a book.

 

Your not going to get that much power out of the N/a. You could do some suspension mods to give it better handling, but if your looking to get more power, it would be easier to do with a different platform.

not just talking about intake, he also said exhaust and if he gets headers and piping back he will get at least that much. and obviously your a cheap ass had have a V8, And we all know a N/A setup with bolt-ons wont get you much hp

I know what turbo lag is, and I have no idea who you are? You are a Person sitting on ur computer,like I am, but you are telling others what they do and don't know about....

 

He would have to build that motor with a pretty penny to get some "fun" out of it, its a bad car to mod, you n/a people are all the same.

 

What are u gonna tell him next? To buy a hybrid prius?

I know what I'm talking about, I have had many cars, n/a, turbo , supercharged all of em, I work on my own cars, bikes, quads, dirt bikes

 

I know what turbo lag is trust me, throwing out the "you have no idea who I am do you?" thing is old, If someone is gonna throw out the "power card" on the forums then so be it. We are posting on a public thread, not everyone is going to have the same views on things.

Don't get mad @ the turbo get Mad @ the N/A!!! everyone knows that the eclipse is fail for mod... just like forza and RL!!! get over the bickering and the poster just listen to the quotes I posted, they are trying to save you money and a lota embarrassment :P
