Donald Trump has what every presidential wannabe craves: very deep pockets, universal name recognition and a ready-made campaign slogan. Imagine Trump telling President Obama, "You're Fired!"

The White House? In recent weeks the brash businessman has made all the moves of someone mulling a White House run, from granting interviews to the political press to giving a red-meat speech in Washington. On Monday, Trump even dispatched an aide to huddle with the state Republican chairman in the presidential proving ground of Iowa.

So, will the leader of the Trump E

mpire really try to become the leader of the Free World?

"He's one of the great hucksters, and I say that admiringly. He's using this idea of running, milking it, for all it's worth -- and it's worth a lot," said former New York City mayor Ed Koch.

"It keeps his name out there, which he is very happy to do. There's nothing wrong with it, nothing immoral. But he's not running. He knows it. Everyone else knows it," Koch said.

Trump insists he's serious, but experts in branding and politics are dubious, saying the art of this deal for The Donald is simple: gaining favorable exposure.

It's not that he needs fame. Trump already is one of the most well-known people on the planet. Rather, they said, flirting with an idea of a presidential campaign helps to burnish the Trump name, the foundation of his business.

The importance of that name is clear from his company's Website, which promotes an expanding galaxy of Trump-named products from condominiums, casinos and golf courses, to chocolates, neckties, eyewear, tea and even a bottled water, Trump Ice. "Welcome to the World of Trump, the global superbrand," the Website proclaims.

Trump's "business is his own persona, and the brand he can build around that persona," said Jacob Cohen, a senior strategist with the branding firm of Wolff Olins in New York.

"He's got the image of someone who's going to make the big move, going to make the big statement. … It's being true to his brand to have that ambition, to seek that attention, that role of being president," Olins said.

Hes full of crap. I know him personally, we cooperated on a project last year. He has like 10 projects that are scheduled past 2012, if he runs for president, those projects aren't getting him any money. Hes all about the money and I don't think he'll run. Also, if you really think that he is into that birther crap, you are not very intelligent, the whole campaign is a publicity stunt. Don't get me wrong, he is a great guy, and no matter what anyone says, he built his corporation by himself, without his dad's help. He is just a good bullshitter too.

To be perfectly fair, he doesn't need the money.

I think he knows that too, he's already a multi-billionaire, no?

Maybe he's bored and wants to do something else with his life besides have deep pockets...

Like fuck an entire country up more than it already is.

He is right now the most promising Republican candidate which doesn't really mean much. It feels like a return to Kerry v. Bush. Idiot 1 or Retard 2? In any case, McCain still has a strong chance for the ticket, as does Rudy. We'll see what happens.

I didn't read much of his comments, but this is what I've seen so far watching him; he's all about marketing. I must admit he is good at making deals. However, he talks a lot of shit about all of his competition and is very cynical. That's not a good president to have. Those traits alone can be a very big weakness. If you don't believe me, you should see the comments he's made towards 50 cent, Ron Paul, etc. He gets into the spotlight by talking shit about his competition.

Healthcare and even if he hasn't helped, he hasn't made anything worse unlike Bush. Republicans want to solve the crisis we are in by dropping the taxes on the countries richest people while raising them on the ones who need it the most. Fox, not to insult you in anyway, but since you ar ein financial trouble, you need Democrats the most right now, they fight to protect your government paychecks like Social Security and unemployment, or welfare checks. Republicans want to take money from your hands and give it to people like me, who don't need it. .In Republican's opinion, helping out people who are less fortunate than them is socialism. By the way, it isn't uncommon for developers to work together. I don't mean that I was with Trump every minute of the project, it was just a joint-firm project between mine and his. I only met with him at meetings and had one business lunch.

Hillary 2012 V Pailin 2012

GO HILARY! I hope Palin gets nominated to run against Obama. That way Obama is bound to win. Hilary isn't going to contest Obama, I don't think anyone is. I don't think he has done the best job, because he compromises with the Republicans too much. I voted for him because I wanted change, so far the only change I got is my taxes lowered, which I didn't ask for. Still I'd take him over a Republican any-day. BTW, I also don't like Republicans because they make it harder for me to sell the condos I build. They raise the sales and property taxes. That is a big deal because a lot of the condos in Florida are bought by tourists who want a second home. They can't deal with huge taxes among other things.

Hillary 2012 V Palin 2012

Hillary is going to win the nomination over obama

L2Politics. Obama is the incumbent President. He doesn't need to campaign to be on the ticket lol. Unless he himself decides to not run, he is automatically the Democratic nominee. And knowing his ego, he's DEFINITELY not stepping down any time soon. Nt.......
