FEBRUARY
If you have used this card, I'd like to know if it is a decent for gaming. 6970 is one of the top of the line cards out right now.. Why would you want to spend $370 on a card, though?
Chicken Wings
Buy a GTX 470, a little bit lower than the 6970 but at that point the difference isn't noticeable. $370 is too much $280 is much better

The 6970 is a great card, but if you are looking to spend a little less cash go with the 6950. Also pay close attention to the distributor of the card, sapphire and diamond are the two best in my opinion, sapphire being the better one. Id also like to add that I have no preference between Nvidia or ATI, I simply pay attention to which is ahead at the current time.
Never trust a hippie
Yea I got a XFX 6950 off newegg a month ago. Its under $300 now and XFX had a double lifetime warranty or w/e is why I went with them. The 6990 is the best card out I believe, 6950 works great for me if that answers anything. Crysis2 demo worked well on high settings in 1900 by 1080

FEBRUARY
Thanks everyone for the help. NP, but if you don't plan on spending a lot, or running something like Crysis 2 on Max settings with high resolution, you could always go with something like the GTX 460 by MSi. Its >$200 and the one I provided is a bit more costly but has a better cooling system and memory/core clocks compared to the other 460's. If you need help picking something for a certain thing you can shoot me a PM and I can help you to the best of my ability.
khan
Get a 6990 if you have the money, its performance is a little less than two gtx 580's in sli
