Jesus2
First round of the NFL Draft was tonight. What'd you guys think of your teams picks or other picks? Wasn't a fan of Newton going 1st Overall. He has the tools and all but has too much of that "bust" factor to be a 1st overall IMO. I thought maybe drafting the most talented player in the draft (AJ Green) would've been a safe pick and would've maybe given Jimmy Clausen a good target. I think giving up on Jimmy Clausen after barely a year wasn't smart. Not saying he's the next Manning but who knows when the next time your team will get a 1st overall. Picks are in this article. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft2011/news/story?id=6445107 Also wanna mention that I lol'd when I found out Peyton Hillis is gonna be on the cover of Madden 12. Bright side is that Michael Vick won't have to suffer from the Madden Curse
Linoleum Knive
Packers took an Offensive Tackle. Cool. Could always use more support.
LazaHorse
I thought that contest was just for shits n giggles, but has no real bearing on who Madden chooses for the cover? In any case, Peyton Hillis clearly got trolled lol... As far as the picks, I LOOOOOVE Von Miller to the Broncos. Great pick for them. I am stupified as to why the Redskins passed up on Garret at 10 though... Being from DC, I KNOW the Redskins need a fuckin Quarterback. Also, the Falcons moving up for Julio Jones was just... retarded. I'm not saying they could have gotten him at their pick, but moving up THAT far for THAT much for him was just dumb. I loved watching him at Alabama. Roddy White and Julio Jones should be a good combo though especially when you have Matt Ryan throwing to you. I don't know if you remember this catch... [video=youtube;OVV70efL26Q] What about Jake Locker going ahead of Blaine Gabbert? Or Daquan Bowers falling out of the first round?

He responded "No Browns player should ever be on the cover of Madden" #winning

Dr.jiggles
Newton was the best pick for them he has flashes of brillance, athletic, tall and Carolina fans need something to cheer and come to watch. I think the detroit linebacker duo is super formidable and Atlant overpaying for Julio Jones, if they really wanted a good WR they could've gone for Sydney Ryce, Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, Malcolm Floyd, and etc through free agency. Jesus2
Newton was the best pick for them he has flashes of brillance, athletic, tall and Carolina fans need something to cheer and come to watch I think that's something Buffalo would've needed lol If I was a Panthers fan I would buy tickets to go see maybe a better Jimmy Clausen, AJ Green (if they had drafted him) and Deangelo Williams/Jonathan Stewart. I still think AJ Green is the safer pick. Bengals did great by drafting him. BTW... Pats drafted maybe their future QB today. They took Ryan Mallett in the 3rd round to be an "apprentice" of Brady. Interesting...

Interesting... When Buffalo took Kaepernick I KNEW that the Patriots were somehow gonna end up with Ryan Mallet. I can't wait to see how Brady grooms this kid into a great QB in the future. Trust me Cam is a lot LOT more fun/exciting then a a jimmy clausen or a wide reciever that has to catch passes by way of Jimmy
