I don't know why I have such high ping but I would like to know what I can do to fix this issue. blackberry4511 Posted July 28, 2011 Share Posted July 28, 2011 It could be happening because of the servers your joining are heavily populated and you computer or whatever cant handle the high amount of random action. As for the ten man thing i am at a lose on that. I know that depending on which server it is for ten man, i will usually have a ping of around 10. So, it could be 1. your computer is having a hard time. 2.The server you are playing on is heavily populated, which then cause strain on the server. or 3. You have a bad connection to the internet. Kurosaki Ichigo Posted July 28, 2011 Author Share Posted July 28, 2011 Well Ive always had at least 50-90 ping on the HG servers, but for some odd reason, I have lately been getting 100+ ping. When I play on the 10 man servers, my ping is about 40-60. You could be right though about the fact that the server being over populated could result in a massive ping, but heres the thing. Whenever I was in our servers and there were alot of people in it, my ping would never reach 100+. I have done a reset on my router and modem and it still didn't fix the solution. Hmmm, you know, I really can't tell the difference because as you know, I get corrupted packets, which causes me to lag, so for my case, it's hard to tell if it effects my gameplay or not. Kurosaki Ichigo Posted July 30, 2011 Author Share Posted July 30, 2011 Okay, so I have been talking to some of the HG members, and according to them, its not my internet that is the issue, its my computer itself. I just did a speed test and I passed the speed test. So, Im going to do this, I have cleaned out my registry and now going to perform a defrag on my computer and if that doesnt work, then I will do a fresh install of Windows XP Pro.
