Karl Marx said dictators need to be in power for a while to help the transition from the old system to Communism then leave, but the dictators stay in power and another just takes over after the old one dies or resigns. Prime examples are Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, and Joseph Stalin. 2. Many 100% communist countries that still exist (the only one I can think of is North Korea) or did exist had no consumer freedom, and the quotas they placed made people build half-assed products. For example, there were cars in the Soviet Union that had no wheels when they got in the market. He did make Russia into a industrialized powerhouse that rivaled the US until it's collapse and led the Russians during WW2. If you look past his bad things like the killings, he is one of Russia's greatest leaders (and they don't have a lot of good ones in their history).
