I Would need the hands of a few, if you think u can help out/host the server, SAY SO! I can do alot of coding myself, but if you guys think you can help pm or comment saying you can! 3D Posted November 1, 2011 Share Posted November 1, 2011 I used to be a private server player my self to some things up, they're shit, You'll need a team of a amazing devs to be constantly working on the bugs on the server (Have fun in your house for 2 years to fix 1 patch 100%) Class mechanics are the worst of them all, there is no class balance because of this, and half the shit hits the wrong amount, You'd have to get to the size of Molten-Wow, Before it was even worth making and I highly doubt we'll have about 50k users a day like them. This, also HG is a large community that I'm sure council wouldn't want jeopardized. private servers of wow are illegal and the owners can be sued at any time. Correct an incorrect, You can to a certain extent, off the 'lesser' private servers, But these will still have a lot of bugs in, I've tried hosting a server my self, as well as co-own one very succesful one. A lot of the scripting you will still have to do your self, private servers that are well off like Molten-wow Won't post there files will they? they'd start to loose players if people had there server quitely well scripted. 3D Posted March 11, 2012 Share Posted March 11, 2012 Because I personally like the Idea of Molten, They have cata and wrath realms and on the 19th of march releasing all HC, I didn't really live through these tiers in raiding back then except ICC, So I can wait to aim for realms firsts again, It may just be the way that I raid as a person, But I just enjoy progressing through tiers so much oh and Wtb Mimirons head <3 Blizzard would never agree to put old content on other servers, They've wrote this many a time on the forum, They've just devolped to much for it to be the same back then, where as This is a succesful WOTLK server that you can play on for FREE and donate if you feel the need to, I from a player point of view, Like the idea, as a business point of view, Obviously I'd rip there heads off. General Jelly Jiggler Posted March 16, 2012 Share Posted March 16, 2012 The only issue with private servers is how laggy/buggy they are, unless you got thousands of players ponying up tons of donations and smart developers you arnt going to get a good running server. Also you need to redownload a lower patched version of WoW to play cause everytime a patch comes out you would need to re update the server which takes forever.
