Because Troopers are OP. :P

Not nearly as bad as a Bounty Hunter, but still. Glad you found something that stuck, though.

you do know that the two classes are almost perfect mirrors of each other right?

the only class they screwed up is the sniper as far as the mirroring goes.

basically everything is a mirror of the opposite factions counterpart. If one class is op, the opposite factions is =. (making nothing op..cept snipers..they gay)

You could say that, but then you'd be wrong. It's not requiring a certain spec for balance, it's flawed implementation. I can't even find the thread I was reading an hour ago because the SWTOR forums move so fast, but you see so many abilities that are supposed to be mirrors, but have a 30 second difference in cool down, or an interrupt that roots you while you're using it, while the Imperial equivalent doesn't. Spells that have movement animations on the REP side, where they connect instantly for the IMPs.

TL;DR - It probably looks fine on paper, but when it's time to cast, the faction balance isn't there.

It is there. People just haven't found the proper way to play their class yet. The only part of the swtor forums that "moves fast" is the general section which is where the wow people go to cry about LFD. The only post i can find about "op" is one guys saying commando is more op the merc.

The abilities are exactly the same they cost the same amount but they do look differently and sometimes cause some people to lag which means there is like half second delay (some videos on it) but thats not the games fault, run at lower settings. This is the most balanced mmo out now. Nothing compares to it.

Also about the cd differences. How are these two stuns different from each other?

You never said anything about how the animations work. Everyone already knows that the animations are still buggy (the IA and smugg. I have said that IA has been broken since alpha. Not enough to be considered op). But the CD are not a 30 sec difference. (like your second post said)http://www.torhead.com/ability/avfFa1u/debilitate

Animations are a pretty big part of how skills work. It helps with big questions like, "Can I use this skill while kiting" or "Is it even worth being in my rotation with time to cast" or "I wonder if my W/L ratio on Huttball is ever going to be better than 1:25." You can't have factional balance when you have all kinds of skills speckled around the Imperial side with no delays, or shorter cool downs.

Also, you weren't even looking at the right skills from the SWTOR thread. Same skill. Bullshit CD differences.

So literally the one thing in the entire game that isn't mirrored perfect and it will be fixed soon.

Also if you want to win at huttball try passing the ball to a tank asap. Any tank level 40+ can easily score the ball. Whenever i solo que huttball and my team does not have a tank I already know that im going to loose. No way is that one ability keeping the whole republic side from loosing every game. Keep up your QQing, it still wont effect your skill or your win loss ratio.

Queue* Losing* Semicolon* affect*

I don't think you read any of the citations. This is just a handful of stuff people have noticed so far.

  • JG's Freezing Force slows for 6 seconds, SJ's Chilling Scream (equivalent) slows for 9.

Freezing Force : Chilling Scream

  • JK Blade Storm has a wind up time (the jedi visibly pulls his hand back) and a travel time (both moves are 10m), SW Force Scream deals damage immediately regardless of range

Jedi Consular / Sith Inquisitor:

  • Project (Cons) doesn't damage until projectile hits, SI Shock does damage instantly.

Trooper / Bounty Hunter:

  • Mortar Volley (Trooper) takes about 2 seconds for any damage to be registered in the area, while Death From Above (BH) damages instantly. (Not Confirmed)

Smuggler / Imperial Agent:

  • The talent Accomplished Sawbones (Scoundrel) provides a 5%/10%/15% crit healing bonus opposed to Accomplished Doctor (Op) 10%/20%/30%.

Accomplished Sawbones / Ingame : Accomplished Doctor

  • Flash Bang (IA) has a 60 sec CD, Flash Grenade (Smuggler) has a 90 sec CD.

Flash Bang : Flash Grenade / Ingame

  • Debilitate can be used while moving, Dirty kick forces the player to stop.
  • Smuggler Sab Charge takes time to get to the target, IA Explosive Probe hits target instantly

It's been said before, but there are 8 classes, not 16. Imbalance works exponentially, since there are at least 8 players on each side of the warzone. In a battle, this can be the difference between receiving an extra 4-6k of damage and dying, and not having an objective capped.

You can't say that it's balanced when it's obvious (and documented) that it's not.
