Flare Posted January 14, 2012 Share Posted January 14, 2012 I've been wanting to try out PERP for a while now and when GMod went on sale over Christmas, I seized the opportunity an bought it. I went to join the PERP server and was greeted with a warm message telling me that I had over 3700 downloads remaining. The number of the downloads didn't bother me and I was more than willing to wait it out for them to down download. So, I left it running overnight and the next morning, I still had over 3700 Downloads remaining and the first one hadn't even started yet. Has anyone else ever had this problem and if so how do you overcome it. Is there another means to get the files, i.e. downloading them off a file sharing website and placing inside my GMod steam folder? Thanks in advance! Angel Posted January 14, 2012 Share Posted January 14, 2012 (edited) I think I had this problem can't really remember now, and an irl friend had trouble downloading the files as well in December last year. What I made him do was download the map for HG's PERP 3.0 server manually (from an external source, not directly from the server), as it seems to download a lot faster. After he downloaded the map he was able to download the rest of the needed files from the server. Click this link to go to the map download page. Just click on the Download button towards the right. Then save the map file (.bsp) to this directory: ~Steam\steamapps\accountname\garrysmod\garrysmod\maps Rejoin the server and you should be able to download the rest of the files from the server.
