Racism denotes hate, so to limit jesting fun in the sense that you're afraid of the hate that may follow is akin to saying "Give kids guns but don't give them bullets." Either way, the power is there to cause harm, doesn't matter if you limit one of the components. We can't deny that yes, racism can and does exist in the world, but stereotypes (as far as accents go) are used everywhere, all the time, even in media (go watch Faux News) and a stereotype isn't necessarily racist. For example, If we say the statement: All black people love chicken <---Sub-racist stereotypical comment, denoting all and a specific race. But if we say in a ghetto accent (think what you want of it): Man, I love fried chicken. <--- the connection to a black person is not implied nor is it stated, it's simply a result of how YOU as the audience think of it. I know people that think of southern white guys when they hear Fried Chicken, it's all in how people's opinions are formed. Simply put, accents are fucking fun to do and if you do them well and people like it then continue to do so? Where's the harm in putting on an FPSRussia accent and having a Gulag day? EVEN LAZARUS WAS ON BOARD FOR IT. Or putting on a Confucian accent and having a Communist Philosophy day? Are we gonna assume that there faking it? I m not here arguing, atleast 1 person from all ts or cts have problem with those voices or w/e you are trying to do. Even one guy says stop then stop end of discussion.
