General Red
Toyotas are generally long lasting. But look at reviews and problems with the car. Just make sure u get a mechanic to look at it.

F4ithl3ss
get a piece of shit that you can pay in full for about 2,000 dollars. no car payments, and if you fuck it up, who cares
No!
Don't buy anything new or nice for your first car. You need a old shitty car that your can wreck and yet walk away from . Because no matter how safe of a drive you are. Your going to be a rookie so buy something that is cheap and tough. So you can learn how to drive and all the tricks and tips of driving then you can get a new nice car after having your first or second wreck. And to repeat YOU WELL GET IN A WRECK ROOKIE! Plastered
Im 16. I spent 12.5k on my 2006 Nissan Frontier. My only regret is the fact that i spend $75 to fill my tank because I got the V6 4door an not the 4 cylinder crew cab. Also, make sure you really take the time to inspect every inch of it both interior, exterior, and mechanically because i feel in love with the look & rushed into buying it without really looking at everything and afterwords i realized all these things that were wrong with it. Plastered
Im 16. My parents spent 7.5k on my 2006 Nissan Frontier. Fixed again. Believe it or not 16 year olds do work for their money. I put $5000 into the car. Thanks for the assumption though (:

Phirewire
1. Whats your budget? Normally you only wanna spend 2 Grand tops on your first car, something you can beat and scratch and not cry over. 2. Fuel economy is important. V8's and SUV's are nice but expensive on gas. 3. Front wheel drive, or AWD is where you should go for bad weather and snow. 4. If the interior is shot so is the car, if they didnt take car of the inside the Motor and everything else is probably beat. 5. Go for low miles, test drive it at High speed and RPM, turn the wheel fully both directions, try all the lights. 6. Make sure its inspected, if its not theres probably a reason. 7. Make sure he is straight forward with you, have someone of age there so they don't take advantage of you.

Cookie
get a junker. Young kids drive dumb ..you don't want to ruin a nice car why is everyone assuming hes a bad driver lol? If you are looking to buy a car from someone used, always have someone else come with you, then they shift gears while you push the car forward (their foot is on the brake so it doesnt move anywhere), this is to see if the motor is moving, if it is its bad. Listen for clicks when test driving it.
