I haven't seen many IT firms that use ground-wave radio or satellite links. Probably because it's a shit ton cheaper to run a WAN over contracted tubes than birds. Not very portable, though. If i could go back in time... i would hands down go back to school for ^^^^^^^^ starts @ 120-150k and 80% of the companies give a 20-30k sign on bonus. heres a link to what i do. and its low as f**** in this video but its dry with the mining engineering.. you go underground when you want too.. If I need extra cash I go do some jobs for a mates dad who is a roadie (shifting speaker stacks etc) or I pop into my mums work and do some data entry for their systems and each time I go in they mess about with the database in sage so it breaks.... EDIT: Jax's sounds really interesting, i'm a Geology student myself and i'm looking into that area for a job at the end of university.
