LazaHorse Posted May 16, 2012 Share Posted May 16, 2012 Is there a way currently that we can find someone's actual Steam Name or Steam ID using their edited name? It's hard to tell who people are when they modify their names to things like "akdoveN | GH" or other names that do not show up in console as their actual names. If there isn't one, I think it's something that we should consider implementing ASAP. Without being able to place a steamID/steam name to these custom names, it's hard to enforce rules on these people or report them (which console ID is it?). Any command for non-admins who don't have access to sm commands? Being able to report offensive behavior shouldn't be exclusive to just admins. If you know a name and dont get is steam id on time and stuff then go to hellsgamers.gameme.com and go into the server and look up the player thats what i do. I'm asking about how to resolve reporting people who choose to use colored names, something that isn't going to show up on gameme. Bonbon does sm_colorednames work for non admins? I'd like other people to be able to report players with colored names and hold them accountable so that a lack of [proper] admining doesn't affect gameplay. Bonbon Posted May 17, 2012 Share Posted May 17, 2012 The following commands have been available for users since day 1 of colorednames being available to everyone sm_colorednames sm_colorednames_list sm_coloredname_list Anyone can use the commands, regardless of admin status. We really need a better way of telling everyone all the available commands. Oh well.
