What Phone should I get?

Recommended Posts

Thanks everyone. After talking to Prius last night i've narrowed down my possibilities. I am a big fan of the android phones due to the more capability they have but the phones i'm looking at are the: the iPhone, nexus, Galaxys3, or the Razr Maxx.

I'm a user of the Samsung Galaxy S2 which I bought last summer just as it appeared on the market for god damn 700 bugs. Now it costs like half of the price and I still can suggest it without any complications. It works fine, the battery lasts still more than a day and I don't expect more. It is still the #2 on the list of the best smartphones on the world, right behind the Galaxy S3 and in my opinion the S3 isn't the money worth right now. Go with the S2 if you like the big screen.

I've only had an iphone since *th grade and thats the only one i know. I love the reliability of it. It takes a ton of knocks and still works!!

Note that reliability and durability are not necessarily the same thing. Body armor is fairly reliable, but not particularly durable. Same with phones.

You'll probably want to consider getting a case or screen shield (I went with the latter) regardless of what phone you get. Scratching your glass is a heartbreaking experience.

gtfo iphones. allow me to redirect you to this thread. He has a part 5 too, but you only need to watch 2 videos. The phone he has is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. If you don't want the Galaxy Nexus, get the Samsung Galaxy SIII, that phone has 2GB's of ram and is cheaper than the iphone 4shit

i have the Samsung Galaxy Precedent And it works better than my iPhone4 i had My Phone Now Doeskin Freeze Up and lock

I love my iPhone 4s, I don't see why Prius has so much hate towards it Apple/iOS. I'm like Magic, I went from having a cruddy phone (Samsung Messenger) to the iPhone and truthfully I don't really care. It's a bad ass phone that has replaced my old piece of crap that I used to have with MetroPCS. I think any smartphone(Apple/Google/Windows/Blackberry) Are all great phones who the hell cares what the brand on it has? Lol. They all do the same crap, Magic I say you go with what ever you like the best outta those phones. If one has a nicer color scheme than the others that you like, and thats the only reason. Pick it. Simple as that, don't be influenced by all this other mumbo jumbo.

Sorry for my little rant lol.

Seriously though, Just pick whatever interest you the most that is available, Be like my mom(Weird comparison haha) she still likes the little flip phones even though I got her a Blackberry it's not that she doesn't like the things that it has to offer, she just literally likes the flip phones because it flips. Lol. What a waste of money. xD

You're wrong on pretty much every account except that he should find a phone that works for him. They are not similar operating systems, and they do not do the same things. There are in-depth debates over this because of their dissimilarities.

It's not brand recognition, it's functionality that is the deciding factor at the end of the day. Except for your mom. I know other grown adults that have phones from the turn of the decade as well. *shrug*

I don't see myself as wrong, I just basically told him to pick a phone he likes, I don't see what that has to do with the phones "dissimilarities" as you say. As an example if he likes an android phone more, over other phones because it has a different unlocking screen or something, I don't see why he shouldn't get it other than the fact of maybe price. If you dig down into the dirt the phones are mostly similar in what they have to offer. What I see is the difference is that one's literally a little simpler than the other, what's the problem? You do have a point over functionality, but most of the phones are the same, their all simple to use now I understand if he was and older person (In his 50's-60's, not saying that he is :P) getting a smartphone for the first time or he's not a tech savvy person, but seeming as he's interested in gathering info for different phones in the first place, I don't see much of a reason for that to be a applicable in this. Also, Unless he is looking for something specific for his Job or School, I'm not sure. As I said before the phones when it comes down to it, do the same stuff irregardless. They all have the ability to make calls, text, email, calculators, keypads, games, camera's, name it and they all most likely have it. So I'll stick to what I have said, if he likes one that is a little bit different for whatever reason, I see no reason why he shouldn't get it.

This is not 1990, All cell phones are not bar phones with all colors as long as you want it in black. Phones capabilities far exceed your list, and therefore spring dissimilarities.

I'm well aware of that, hence why I put "name it and they all most likely have it". There's no way I would be able to put everything smartphones are capable to do, I was just pointing out the key things that phones are made to do as an example that they have a lot in common.

You're wrong... just stop. All cars are not the same thing, they all take you the same place, but they are not the same thing. They have a wide range of capabilities as do smart phones of this generation and buying one for its looks will deter from other aspects and so on.
