Please tell us about the incident: Laz came on, assumed he knew everything about what was going on and starts abusing other admins because he believes no one will touch him. LazaHorse Posted June 3, 2012 Share Posted June 3, 2012 Admins need to stop jumping to 9 round templocks. It's the same as the 2 hour ban problem. People see the extent to which they can use admin powers, and instead of using responsibility/discretion and finding just punishment for offenders, they jump to as far as they can go without having to explain themselves. I had already templocked that person for 4 rounds for freekilling the LR terrorist, knowing he had freekilled before. 4 rounds is plenty. AJ then right after that re-templocked him for 9. He said that was his third offense (as your screenshot shows). Here's the problem... Warn Slay Templock Tlist Third offense yes is a templock. But why would it NEED to be a 9 round templock? 4 was plenty but AJ chose to use his powers and undermine my own punishment on the player by extending it to 9. I do not act "in asshole mode" for the sake of doing it. Being an admin for as long as I have, I've seen both good and bad admins go in and out of that server. I want all admins to uphold the same rules and responsibilities that we all sign up for when we subscribe to admin. I said on mic that admins need to stop jumping to 9 round templocks, even for repeat offenders. I also said that anyone who feels unjustly punished should come to our forums and make an unban/abuse report to keep admins accountable. There's a reason why it's a templock. You give them a few rounds as a T to learn/re-learn the game before they can try their hand at CT again. If they are THAT BIG OF A PROBLEM, you post a Tlist report to have them HELD on T for extended periods. 9-round templocks are just another way to encourage admins to be lazy about what they do in the server, allowing them to severely punish players without having to provide "proof" of their mistakes. Honestly it should be removed, something I've spoken to Reddevil about already. *EDIT* To clarify, I did not actually use admin powers (not sure if the abuse section is the proper place) except to templock a player for 4 rounds. I_Kill_You Posted June 3, 2012 Author Share Posted June 3, 2012 I don't even know if it goes without saying, but with someone currently looking through their demo bin to see if we have the recent event I would say that this is not over. Nor will it ever be over if it seems like an admin is inferior to another. Maybe if it is with a rank difference like division lead to me or lower, I could see it. Honestly, even Red doesn't jump off the handle at others like this, and he would have every right to.
