60Seconds
So I was at lunch with a client today at this restaurant by my office, nothing too fancy, a medium sized Cuban place. We're eating for 30 minutes, and then this couple with two kids, a baby and a toddler sit down at the table next to ours. I normally wouldn't care, but these kids were screaming the whole damn time, and to pacify them, their parents let them play games on the parents' phones, with the volume all the way up. I don't want to hear freakin Angry Birds while I'm trying to convince someone to use us instead of another much bigger company. I've sat next to people with babies before, but their kids are actually well behaved. I mean if you know your kids are going to scream and ruin everyone else's experiences, you should leave your little shits at home. I have a 1 and a half year old daughter and I tried to take her to a restaurant once and she started screaming, so I just paid the bill and left, and then didn't return with her again. What do you guys think? Isn't this rude? Share your crappy dining experiences as well.

Colonel Potter M.D.
Me too I hate when MISBEHAVED CHILDREN go into a restaurant and there parents have nothing for them to do or do not do corrective measures to make sure they behave in a civilized manner. This happens all to often down the shore and I do not eat out during the summer season.

QQ more red... My worst dining experience was at a PF Changs(worst place to eat ever) once. First off it took forever for our food to be served to us. It was me and 2 of my friends and we just finished watching me myself and Irene. I ordered a chicken dish and recieved a plate of no chicken and just hot peppers and noodles. My 2 companions had gotten garlic butter shrimp which was partially undercooked and bland. While I argued with the manager about how shitty the food was and proceeded to force him to try each plate and then have him tell me that it was shit as well. The server, the dumb, worthless existance of space that she was had the nerve to try to sell us dessert and after we finished cursing her out tried to give us the bill. So I borrowed the her pen and wrote "GO FUCK YOUR SELF" across the whole front of the receipt and left. Yes Billy those parent were assholes and should be slapped across the face rick james style

Cookie
Yes, all parents should not beable to feed their baby in a restaurant, because they are too young to comprehend behavior. I was being sarcastic by the way.
Jella
That's why you say something, if you are able to maintain any semblance of maturity. Colonel Potter M.D.
Also If they get asked three times to quiet their child down and they don't, they should be asked to leave, banned for 18 years and force to pay the bill.

I was being sarcastic by the way. Yes actually, they shouldn't because first off, the baby is too young to appreciate the food anyway, and secondly, if they know that their baby is going to misbehave, then why take it to a restaurant? They know that they'll only be annoying other people. Its selfish. If I ever opened a restaurant I wouldn't let kids 6 or under in. That's why you say something, if you are able to maintain any semblance of maturity. I did, I told our server about it, and she did tell them that they need to quiet their baby down, but it kept going on.

No they have a right to eat together as a family, and if you are annoyed by this, switch chairs or you leave.

60Seconds
I have a right not to hear their annoying little kids screaming. I'm not saying anything about their right to eat as a family. I've sat next to plenty of families in restaurants and their kids don't misbehave. It's also pretty inconsiderate to turn up the volume on their phones. This is why I like to eat at expensive restaurants, because people can't afford to bring their whole damn family there. If I wanted to sit next to screaming little shits I'd go to Orlando and eat at Disney World. Edited June 11, 2012 by Billy Mays
kimzy
I like kids with all my heart but you don't go to a restaurant to hear someone's kids cry and scream. If you, as a parent, know your kids are like this, don't take them there.Simple as that. For once, Billy Mays, I do agree with you I must say though, there's several ways of solving it, being in your shoes. As long as you stayed professional and polite, I am still fully agreeing with you.
Gabe
lawl. I have lived all my life with plenty of siblings, this isn't a big deal. Honestly, get over it, they arn't going to move, simply walk out of the resturant, these parents did try to quiet them down, that's why they gave them their phones to play games on. The games were annoying too. I'm sure that the parents know that it's rude to put the volume all the way up. I didn't walk out, specifically because I wanted to make a point. I got my bill half off anyway because I told the manager that I won't be coming back if they are going to stand by there and let those people spoil the dining experience of others. The point is that the parent shouldn't have taken them there in the first place. Get a babysitter or something. Kimzy, I did stay professional, the only reason being that I was with a client. If I was there by myself, I would have done something like this.
(Headband)(EG)
You don't get out much, do you. Pretty sure you would be frustrated if after you have clearly vocalized that your meal was terrible someone from the same establishment who you have voiced your concerns to tries to sell you dessert. Kinda defeats the purpose if the customer is ignored no? PF Changs isn't that bad. It was probably that one PF Changs. Where was it? Not Weehawken NJ by any chancE? Nah it was out on Long Island. 60Seconds
Headband, the waitress is doing her job, her job is to sell their shit. For that, I can't blame the waitress. Not really her fault. In that situation I would just hand her the tip personally and then just write 0 tip on the check. Lol yeah, Headband, us rich kids know a lot about Long Island. BranHorse
I'm the kind of person who thinks that there are only certain places where kids are aloud to go. Disneyland, parks, certain beaches (the ones where i am not), public pools (i have a pool stay out of it), chucky cheese, and just about everywhere i am not are all acceptable places. Of course this only applies to children under the age of 6. After that I assume that they know enough to behave in public places and if they don't then either get a babysitter or be a better parent. Before the age of 6 either get a babysitter or go somewhere that i wont be. By the way i hate kids
