VIP -Unusual effects for any hat -Golden Wrench -No Class Limits -Reserved slot at all times -Vote Scramble -Vote Mute/ Vote Gag -No auto-balancing -No more advertisements -Change teams at anytime with /swap Servers in General -Weekly events where free VIP is given to the winner. -Weekly population events -Increase our rank in servers -New servers with popular modes like Doomsday and Saxton Hale -A /report feature that brings up the ban report section of the website. -Have a server switch panel that pushes our other servers and encourage people to stay within our network. It is fun to play there. I have no idea how to make maps, but I would be interested in donating to help create an HG trade map. I DO like our current tradepost (rawr) map, but it is a little stale. I think we could generate many more players on our trade servers if we : Reduce downtime after updates (especially major updates), create an HG map or maps that do something a bit different, get rid of the fake auto populating that exists on several if not all of our servers. tunafizzle Posted August 5, 2012 Share Posted August 5, 2012 disable callvote. 1)It's not logged. 2)It's impossible to demo/screenshot someone abusing it unless they admit to it. 3)Few users actually know about it when there is a cheater/someone that needs kicked. 4)An admin can do nothing about it if a user is votekicking random players 5)Bans can't be reversed or reviewed. 6)Players kick other players out of spite/random/trolling and the votes often pass. 7)I've seen at least 40 occasions of users not idling/cheating/doing anything to warrant getting kicked banned, I've been told by users on at least 15 occasions that they've been kicked without warrant. 8)I cannot think of a single time I've ever seen or heard of a cheater getting votekicked/banned, I can think of about 3 times trolls/mic spammers got votekicked. 9) I dunno if anyone else that donates monthly for admin feels the same way, but I cannot handle any more players telling me they've been vote kicked/banned and seeking help from me or someone to rage at via steam. I signed up for admin and was happy to donate because I like HG and I play on orange_x3 like 90% of the time I play tf2 so its a nice way to help support the upkeep and keep any cheaters off the server. But its just too much of a pain in the ass to keep having to tell people, "Sorry, can't do anything, try joining in 20 min" I'm sure most of the higher up members of HG know what its like to deal with the players with a problem, I bother digitalshot all the time when somethings not working and I imagine tons of other users do to---I imagine its a pain in the ass. But i'm not a higher-up or HG member even, I'm a donator. I just want to donate to help offset the costs, be able to keep cheaters out and actually help regular players in the server once and a while. I'm not trying to be one of those whiny "you better change this or do that" admins/donators I've seen threatening to stop donating like they are the only person keeping HG servers up.... I really like the HG community and servers and will still happily make donations without admin access anytime HG needs to raise money, I just don't want to donate money for something that feels like work. This is lucky for me, as players have often in the past tried to votekick me off, just because I'm killing them easily. I didn't believe you at first beans or thought maybe it was just the UK server so I joined and entered callvote into my console. "Vote failed. voting is disabled on this server" Looks like I acted prematurely in canceling my monthly donation, glad to see this has been remedied. It's not that I mind the option to vote out people, its just valve's votekick system is horrible and causes headaches. Thanks to whoever decided to disable this. cronic Posted August 7, 2012 Share Posted August 7, 2012 Changes needed on the USA 100% critz server. 1) I agree with what Tuna is saying, because I would like to start donating, but if it going to be a headache I'll just play. 2) Need to lift the 2 sniper rule and allow at least 25% of each class no mater the number of people. 3) Need to take the new RTD off and put back the last one, the new RTD kinda make people upset when they are playing. To me playing with out the RTD made it more challenging. 4) I guess I can speak for the people who play in the server since we all talk about it. You need to fix the map so the spawn stays the spawn and not a place were spies just sit and kill people because it kills the server. I have brought quite a few friends over to play and they won't come back bacause of that. 5)People getting on the spawn roofs... ( I say if you can get up there then its part of the map more power) I really enjoy playing in the HG servers and I like the HG people I've met. I meet tuna in the server, well kinda bitched to him now were friends, he does keep a good eye on the server. I've meet a lot of my new friends in the 100% critz server. I am no kid and I have been playing FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS since 1999 with CS, Solider of fortune, Soldier of fortune 2, I have had my own clan/team played in all kida of leagues from amature to pro even played on the EA team for 2 years and a raven soft team for 4 years, Now I just want to play and enjoy the server I play in. I've been playing on-line since 1997 (QII and Barry's World Admin). I also liked SoF, but could not get on with SoFII. Unreal Tourney for a few years - the sniper MOD. Now, here -hg- bean$ EDIT: I was chatting with Tuna this morning (my UK morning) and he still thinks that the 'call-vote' system is still running on the USA server - is this right? tunafizzle Posted August 13, 2012 Share Posted August 13, 2012 I used to love playing jump maps on QII, makes me think of how little things have changed when i see jump/surf servers for tf2/css/etc. I started online gaming with Rainbow Six on mplayer back in like '99 so i guess that makes me the youngin here But I check it (callvote) pretty much anytime I join the serv, it's likely still on and will be until someone announces it here. Next time I see you there we'll see if it works and I'll votekick you. I'm willing to bet it would pass-- I've been votekicked at least 2 times even as admin.
