I don't know how drastic this would be, but would it be feasible to have designated times in the day where HLDJ is active and not active?

Seems like a lot of work. For example, your going to have to change the MOTD and inform must players about the new rule.

Most jailbreak servers don't even have it, and they run fine.... We don't "need" it. What days require hldj? Pirate day.. We can just tell stories like old times (that day is just an excuse for admin abuse anyways)

Not really sure how you can classify pirate day as admin abuse, when the point of the day is to slap Ts around. Slap is misused by some admins, but it's used as a warning to CTs that are not playing properly (e.g. camping before last).

Also, HLDJ does not necessarily fit into slotted "days," per se; I make use of its flexibility in other ways, such as asking trivia using clips of TV themes, characters, etc. Wolfman uses it as background music on opinionated days. It's a commodity, not a necessity, I agree, but a commodity should not be disallowed because some people don't know how to use it with good intentions.

A while ago HLDJ was something that really made the server unique as people could be pretty creative with the role-playing acts and timing of their clips.

But, there is much more traffic on the server now and thus a lot more derps, and a server that is radically less enjoyable.

+1 for [HG] + admins

Something needs to be done but going straight to HLDJ ban will piss off a lot of people. This seems like the most reasonable option.

I just had another random idea for warday music:

HLDJ is muted until the warday actually starts. At that point, people can jostle for playing time (like how people try to get lead); the first person chronologically to play their song gets it to stay on, muting the HLDJ of everyone else. Similar to !fire, people can vote (maybe using rep?) to stop the song, and it can be stopped after a certain number of votes. Or, it can be stopped by an admin if it sounds like a griefing clip. Then, the same process happens again. If you don't want to hear music at all during the warday, you can toggle it personally.
