jajolt
I launched gmod today. Got to the loading screen, before the models and shit load, and it crashes and when it closes out, it gives me the half life 2 symbol and the title engine error: [steam] SteamApps() is NULL All I did was uninstall hl2:lc nothing else... I have uninstalled, and everything, help me please. EDIT: Doesn't do this with any other source game, I launched css successfully, but I tried to connect to jailbreak and it said that I'm in insecure mode and need to restart. Restart steam? RageQuit
Right click on GMod in the Steam menu, Properties, Local Files, Verify Integrity of Game Cache. That's what I do for CSS when I get the same error message.

RageQuit
Since GMod relies on files from Source games, it's possible that uninstalling that Half Life episode affected the content of your GMod files. Here's some more information on the error. It may just pass on its own as well.

enigma#
First question: do you have Avast? If not, second question Have you tried deleting clientregistry.blob and restarting your Steam client?
