I Love Lamp
The age difference there isn't so severe to be awkward. If you were 20+ that would be a whole different issue.

BranHorse
Shes probably 17 and your 18....your goin to jail bruh. If you like her then go. I don't see any issues. Chances are you will have fun. If she likes you or something in a sexual or loving way and you do not feel the same then do not go. Cut that ho off. She's 16 and the laws in new york actually make it so you do go to jail and it is a sexual thing lol

As long as you dont rape her and make her tell the cops or her parents that you touched her your fine..
Gabe
So? Im probably going to homecoming with a senior (I'm a junior) she's 17 and I'm 16.. a year difference even if you're an adult is no issue! <3 Gabe
Deadlock
What is the age of consent in New York? If it's 16, you are technically ok in the eyes of the law. Granted, the parents can still press charges, however you have the law on your side. If it's 17/18 I would not recommend going to homecoming with her considering you mentioned it is sexual attraction she has for you.

RageQuit
It would only be weird if it were a freshman and senior pairing. That's happened too many times at my school, and it's pretty creepy.
Jella
How can you be confused? You say you already feel weird being with her, so why be with her...?
Bonbon
She's 16 and the laws in new york actually make it so you do go to jail and it is a sexual thing lol Go out with her, and have sex just because IT ACTUALLY IS LEGAL. Although the age of consent in NY is 17, most countries, states, provinces have affirmative defense laws. In new york, from what I've read, if the youngest partner is at least 13 years old, and the older partner is 4 or less years older than the partner, then the older partner has an affirmative defense and can not be charged. It actually does shock, and slightly sicken me, that there is A LOT of people who believe sex before the age of consent is completely illegal. I guess that's not something parents let their kids know, though.
ExGBrian
It's just a dance. Unless that dance turns into a orgy their isnt anything wrong with it. If she's happy going with you then you should be happy too. Even if the mother is PTA it doesnt matter because you're out of high school. Just go and have fun. Bonbon
Parents/Legal guardians can still press charges. What? No they can't? How could they, if no crime is commited.
