Chile's Indenpendention was declared on the 18th of September of 1810, exactly two years ago we celebrated the bicentennial of our republic, one of the strongest men (In psycological, war ways) was Bernardo O'Higgins.

 

 

He participated actively in the events that occurred in Chile in 1810, which eventually led to its independence from the Spanish Empire. O'Higgins abandoned his farming and became military, one of the most important of the emancipation of Chile, where he is regarded as one of the Founding Fathers. Between 1817 and 1823, he served as head of state under the title of supreme director, a position he resigned, exiling in Peru until his death.

 

Another Founding Father of the Republic of Chile was José de San Martín

 

He was appointed governor of Cuyo, located in the city of Mendoza launched its project after organizing the Army of the Andes it crossed the mountains of the same name and led the liberation of Chile, in the battles of Chacabuco and Maipú. Using a fleet organized in Chile, attacked the center of Spanish power in South America, Lima, Peru declared independence in 1821. Soon after he found himself in Guayaquil Simon Bolivar, and after a brief interview he gave up his army and end goal of the liberation of Peru. San Martin left for Europe, where he died on August 17, 1850.
