Internet Provider

I'm having huge internet issues right now. I'm not going to get in depth but I'd like some help on looking for a new provider. I've looked at some of the known providers and they aren't available in my area. I'd like you guys to help me with the search for a new internet provider. My area code is 75119. I'm going to use a address fairly close to me so the weirdos (bigjohn) don't come find me. 906 Oak Creek, Ennis, TX

I'm currently looking in Century Link. Does anyone have this provider and can give me some input on it?

Are you sure Verizon and AT&T doesn't have service in your area? I know most of those Verizon commercials are bullshit, but when they say they have coverage like everywhere I'm pretty sure they should have it in your area. I know people living in the middle of nowhere who can get Verizon.

Also, if you don't mind me asking does your TV/Phone provider provide your internet?

The only deal for AT&T is DSL and a maximum of 3 mbps. My TV provider also provides my internet, they don't provide phone service.

I need opinions on if that will good enough for gaming. A maximum of 3 mbps.

Depends if your line is good, should be decent but for no bumps go for 10+, time Warner is good with speeds in my area (15-20 down, supposed to be 10) and they have great customer support.

The only known provider in my area is AT&T and the highest they offer is 3 mbps.

Depends on what other people in your house will be doing on their computers. 3 mbps is pretty shitty and unless you're the only one using it I wouldn't get it. Unless of course you had a mom like mine that did practically nothing on her computer, but if you have a family member trying to watch Netflix or play Xbox and crap then it would suck to try and have them do that while you're on the computer.

I'd be the only one using the internet.

It'll work, but it'll be absolutely shitty. Like, if you plan on doing anything vigorous such as downloading lots of porn or watching Netflix all the time you can expect files to take forever to download and for Netflix to buffer longer than the movie itself. (exaggeration) If you're only playing CSS and just doing general internet related things (YouTube, forums, etc.) then you shouldn't have a problem.

Idk all I saw was a commercial but hughesnet says they did satellite high speed Internet almost anywhere.

Depending on what type of satellite internet they use (how high up the orbit it is), it can be highly unproductive to use satellite internet due ot the fact it has increased latency and/or unreliable links to certain nodes on a backbone (highly unlikely though)

Here's my speedtest as of 30 seconds ago while on hughesnet. (Broadband is not available at my moms house ._. )

First test from location suggested by website (best ping apparently to the satellite)

Second test from location geographically nearest to my house

so basically, dont ever get hughesnet.

Comcast has the WORST SERVICE DEPARTMENT IN THE WORLD. They literally don't know what the fuck they are saying half the time and when they come to your house its like giving a hammer to a monkey. Please go with TWC, they actually have good deals and really nice support if you have problems.
