So I've been planning on getting some much needed upgrades for my pc again for about a year now... So I was hoping some of you pc gurus could help me choose some good parts for what I'm planning on upgrading/adding to my system.

My budget is somewhat low $700-1000.

and this is my current system:

CASE: Cooler Master Elite 310

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3 AMD 9 Series FX Motherboard

CPU: AMD FX-8120 Processor - Eight Core

CPU Cooler: Antec Kuhler H2O 620 Liquid Cooling System

RAM: Corsair Vengeance - 8GB (2x 4GB), PC3-12800, DDR3-1600MHz

Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+ SSC Edition 512MB

Sound Card: Onboard

Power Supply: Ultra LSP550 550-Watt Power Supply

HDD: 250GB-Seagate, 500GB-WesternDigital

Cooling: Cheap case fans

Operating System: Windows 8 Pro

Display Monitor(s): ASUS VH198T 19-Inch LED Monitor res-1440x900

Headset: Cooler Master Ceres -400 (its broken now :()

Mouse: Microsoft Wireless 5000 Laser Mouse

Keyboard: CHERRY STREAM XT Black

I've been looking around newegg and found some parts that I think would go great with my current system, just post below if you know of anything better within the price range or if the stuff I chose are ok (I just want to make sure I get the best bang for my buck :D).

Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache

HIS Radeon HD 7850 1GB

NZXT Phantom Black Steel ATX Full Tower (not sure about this one just yet, the few bad reviews kinda kill it for me)

ASUS VS Series 23" 2ms HDMI LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor

This is all I got for now, let me know if I should switch anything out or if I should add anything else to the list, and thanks for the help!

upgrades you should consider in my opinion, in order

GPU - 660TI 2GB or 670

SSD - Intel/OCZ/Samsung 120GB+ (boot drive)

headset - personal preference, I love my turtle beach z6a's

monitor - 23" and 1920x1080 (get a 120Hz if you can)

HDD - if you need more space, go for it

Also, as for the parts you picked they all look good but I'd consider a better GPU for future-proofing

I'm guessing that 9800 lasted about 4 years, hopefully your new GPU will last the same.
