You need to go into advanced launch options (if you don't know how to, google it) then copy exactly as I have it (minus the quote marks) " -dxlevel 81" This forces direct X to be in some sort of lower level and have less visuals but that is ok because you just want to play gmod don't you? Your other option is to go to this website and do everything on it in hopes of fixing this problem. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1216-JMTZ-0860 I can say I did have an issue with gmod crashing when I first installed it.
