Perp Moderaters

Here is a problem. As one of the perp moderators I find that moderators are looked down upon by players JUST because we can't turn to permanent solutions. For example, if I encounter a player who refuses to listen and refuses to co operate is kicked. He will simply come back and start the same conversation / argument again. As far as I know, no one likes kicking someone multiple times until the person stops. Also if we tried putting up a ban report, in the amount of time that it takes to be approved will be devastating, because the player will cause maximum damage in that period of time before disconnecting and never coming back. Every time some disapproving player goes "Get a REAL admin" I can't help but to think that the player base look down upon moderators. Just throwing this out there, a lot of moderators hopefully feel the same way as I do.

I completely agree with this statement 100% because a situation happened like this yesterday (https://hellsgamers.com/hgbans.php?i=29218-gammagamezlol). This guy kept RDMing as a cop and would get demoted and go back and do it again. The only person we could get on was a mod so all he could do was blacklist him or slay him. We don't have admins on 24/7 so I think mods should have bans up to 2 hrs.

I agree just incase the advisors+ cannot get on

Or maybe we should have more active advisors. I get why it's different from JB in that someone can ruin another player's experience for a long time in PERP where in JB it resets after a round. But the same thing can be said about admins. The reason we can have pay admins on JB with ban powers and not even pay admins with almost no permanent power on PERP is that when someone is removed from PERP for a long time, it significantly hurts their long-term productivity/experience in PERP. So we have mods with fairly weak powers who are under careful watch.

It seems to me the solution should be in what I quoted above: more active advisors. Get advisors and other people we "trust" with their powers to be more active/responsive and we kill two birds with one stone.

This is less a problem of moderators not being able to ban people, and more of moderators not joining and being active on TeamSpeak. If you are on TS3, I would be willing to say 9 times out of 10 you can find someone from gmod or other administration that will be more then willing to help you out with a problematic player. Also make sure your adding gmod leadership on steam, if you ask them for help with a server related issue they will help you. If they don't, talk to upper administration about it because that is the reason they are in those positions (Note: If they are AFK, in the middle of something else, or otherwise would like to help you but can't then that is not a reason to talk to UM's or a gmod leader in the case of an advisor; Talk to UM's or leaders if they are not doing anything and just don't want to help you)

we should get more advisors for garrys mod but thats not my shot to call. thanks though laz. think about it, we have DirtyDNA, Adam Cole, Suicide, Rizon, Mark, and Father Blessing. 6 admins with a server that is normally about 50+ players all the time (besides night time) with normally about 1-2 admins on at one time. 6 mods, Inc, Rush, Fallen, cookie, toxic, paradhyze, with about 1-2 on at one time aswell, except mods cannot ban... see a problem? but i do appreciate them being so helpful, to point a few out; Suicide - here he approved the ban only 3 minutes after i posted https://hellsgamers.com/hgbans.php?i=29260-7cardcha, Father Blessing - always answers my questions as well as he can, Adam Cole - yesterday there was no admins or mods on perp and i told him we needed him, so he got on and stayed for awhile. I believe that the HG members do not look down upon the mods, but i am not a mod so i don't know. you've earned your spot as a moderator :) and if you do not do well, it can be revoked, so you guys are doing it right :P

The thing is, when I made this thread, it was 4 am in the morning. Why am I on 4 am in the morning? I sleep early wake up early and be on early because I can't be on gmod during the day. Also at that time, its the prime time for people to break rules. When the incident regarding this happend, there was no advisers in skype help desk, nor in teamspeak. It was just me and paradhyze trying to control the situation.

Alright, let's get some shit settled here, shall we?

First off, moderators are MODERATORS, not admins. We have admins for a reason, you guys are here to moderate the server. If you have issues you can't handle, you talk to an advisor or above. If you can't find one, talk to DL. If you still have no hope, that's why we have a skype chat, you post on the skype chat saying who you need a ban on and why. Or stating that you need help in PERP. As we get more and more mods you guys are letting the power get to your head. Face it, you guys aren't admins, and you aren't DA's. Wanting more power is simple outrageous. If you want more power, get noticed. Move up in the ranks, don't get on PERP for a god damn hour and expect just because you've been here for 8 months that something is just suppose to be handed to you, work for it. A year ago, the moderators before you, had less powers then any of you have. They didn't have an admin stick, they couldn't even ban, but yet you guys still want more and more power.

Now, about more advisors, you guys do realize we have other shit to do right? We can't sit here and baby sit all of you 24/7, our past mods used to have the server under control easily, and it used to be more chaotic. Whenever I see Plaayer/Inc on the server, they have that shit under control, Plaayer could be dealing with a person and still responding to reports and answering questions in OOC while raiding (obviously sarcasm, but I see Plaayer handling a lot in the server).... I mean, I see mods join the server then go into spectate and don't do shit, then they complain that admins/advisors don't do anything. Take a look and what you guys do and say before you make threads like these and respond to them with witty comments.

With all that being said, whether we need more mods/advisors is not up to you, it's up to DL's, and I'm sure they know what their doing.
