Need Some Advice On Motorcycles.

Hey guys! I'm looking to buy a motorcycle in the near future for transport. I want to know how much I should be prepared to pay for a used bike. I don't want a low seat or anything like that I'm looking for a speed bike ( Not sure if this is the proper term) regardless of the name I don't need it to go incredibly fast. I'm looking for something that is fuel efficient and can pretty much get me from point a to point b. Also any tips on beginning would be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would NOT recomend getting something that small as a 125cc. you will quickly grow right out of it and would want to get a bigger bike with more power. I also recomend looking into a motorcycle safety school, took one here in New York for 300$ and it was well worth the money.

He's in Cali (i think) by law he has to XD

Also most people I know say to start out with a 250 depending on your size/strength/skill.

If you can find a cheaper 250 grab one by any means. the little kawasaki 250 ninjas seem to be great little starter bikes.

Only reason i would suggest the cbr125 is cause the resell value on those things is really great, along with the fact that the bike literally wont let you kill yourself. I think it has a max speed of like 75 mph.

Believe me I love Gixxers and by any means if you were an experienced rider i'd say grab a gsxr600, but seeing as you've got near to none i wouldnt touch something that fast and heavy just yet. Get used to the riding position of a sport bike first, get used to how turning works. Like anything it takes time to learn, but once you pick it up you'll have a blast whether you're on a 1200cc hayabusa or a 125cc honda, motorbikes are fun.
